Alrighty now, Sony refuses to open the game back up to players in over 170 countries just because its not a place a Sony account can be made.
Going with a negative review until the game is opened back up again.

I don't care, good game still good

Worth it.

Needs more time in the oven.
The UI and menu system is simply awful.
Controller support is a joke when navigating inventory and especially when in combat and swapping to different tools or weapons on the hotbar. Very poorly implemented controller support.
Nothing feels rewarding. Did several dungeons with a friend and there was practically no reward for beating the final boss. (You'll experience this on your first "story boss")
Enemy variation is pretty poor too. Same few enemy types over and over.
The crafting system is very poorly implemented. It feels like they tried doing the Conan Exiles sort of crafting stations but failed bad.

I had such high hopes for this game over the years, especially knowing the devs behind the game.
I want to say that I did have a good time in the first 30 minutes but after that it just got frustrating.
The online only thing is a bad choice. I have gig speed internet and I'm rubberbanding from time to time.
The crafting and storage system needs to be linked. The micromanagement of the inventory, storage and crafting was pretty bad for me.
I'm rambling now.

TL;DR
Wait for a lot of updates.
Controller support is bad.
Game not rewarding.
Not worth it as it is.
I'll update this in a year or after a significant update.

You can no longer gift through the crown store.
For me, this is a problem. Crowns are too expensive and earning gold is a great time sink and can be traded to someone who can buy crown store items for me.

Look past the troll reviews. This game is outstanding! 54 hours in the demo, never got bored. Full game, so much more.
Yes, there's a lot of connection issues but that's just part of a big launch like this. It will get fixed. As of this review, I haven't crashed since the previous day. Big improvement

IS GOOD. MUCH YES.

Simply put, this needed more time in early access.
I'll come back when controller support actually works.

Okay, lets start with, it's a good game with a great story.

Now lets talk about Horde.
This is a real mess.
I love Horde and have been playing since Gears 2.
However, in Gears 5, you are FORCED to play a character. Fahz for example, I love his loadout and his ability but as a character I can't hate him enough. I don't wan't to play him but I must if i want that loadout.

Simply put, you have NO option to play who you want, and how you want.

Oh and you can't have 2 of the same character in a Horde match? wtf

Horde 3/10
Escape 3/10 (same issues but worse)
