Cross-Play announced to be in development.
Thats literally the reason i'm leaving this positive review. Its probably the most important change this game needed - and the fact that it WILL get it makes me very happy.

Reported a cheater using a support ticket. Provided video evidence, the cheaters SteamID64, and basically every bit of information I could. The cheater is still playing the game 80 hours a week. for the past 6 weeks. This company doesn't police the game against cheaters in any meaningful way.

Do you dislike playing against people who are cheating without fear of consequence? Then do yourself a favor and don't buy or play this game.

I'm changing my review recommendation from a yes to a no. To be certain I enjoy playing Friday the 13th. The game has a number bugs both big and small, unrefined mechanics. and missing content for the price tag. But the problems were never so overbearing that the game's good points couldn't shine through. Playing as Jason and damning the rowdy and noisy counselors to my own personal idea of hell was extremely vindicating. And escaping from Jason was oftentimes tense, but when you succeeded it was satisfying to walk away leaving Vorhees to wallow in his failure to catch everybody.

However, the reason I no longer recommend this game is because Gun Media have damaged their professional integrity as a company. Gunmedias system for reporting players in Friday the 13th for breaking punishable rules or just plain outright cheating states in its fine print that you 100% need evidence of the punishable action you are accusing a player of doing. (ie a video recording) And I agree with the system as whole, certainly it might make the reporting system a little slower because you need to handle reports on a case by case basis. But it's a great way to ensure there are no victims of an incorrect or unjust banhammer.

That is until it came into light that a member of Gun Media has been confirmed responsible for banning players without the needed evidence to do so. Trusting instead the word of mouths of friends and colleagues, despite the fact that it is a clear violation of the system itself. The reason I am so upset about this is because by one single case of foul play coming to light. We NOW need to call into question every single banning case prior. We can no longer be certain of the integrity of Cun Medias prior convictions nor the integrity of future action to come. Just how many peopel perior have been pushished for being reported without proper evidence? We might never truly know.

As a result my view on this game will remain negative until Gun Media publicly addresses having failed our trust in them as a business. Individuals responsible have been properly reprimanded, and compensation is offered for the players wronged by the misused system. Until then my position will remained firmly in the area of “Don’t buy this game.”

Tried playing some Casual Siege this morning. Only all 6 games I play had clear cut case cheaters on the other team. And before you jump to any conclusions.. No, I wasn't just "assuming" they are cheating. I have played the game long enough to know the difference. They where flaunting it, they made no attempts to hide it. Some of them had walls. Some of them had aimbots. One guy used both. The game is good. And every game it was different people, with different cheaters. But Ubisoft is incompetent at policing thier game. I would 100% suggest against buying this game. Again, the games good. But playing against cheaters was all too common for me. To the point that I really wish I just didn't buy it from the start.

One of the most satisfying games I have played in a long time.

Honestly this games ONLY flaw from my perspective is its DLC. A bunch of skins and in-game items. That only serve to make the game easier. Considering its only a 20 hour long game buying them would be a waste.

but don't let that discourage you from buying the main game.

This games only true fault is thats it free-to-play. As a result the skill gap between practiced players and new ones is massive.

If you're new too this game, I hope you have a good intuition when it comes to learning how to play. Otherwise you will find yourself being pounded into the dust.

Also don't forget too spend you life savings on in-game cosmetics.

Heres the question everyone is asking. And it's "Should I rebuy the same game?"

And I can PROUDLY say.......... Eh, maybe.

Honestly, if you have deep enough pockets, go ahead and grab it. There's certainly enough different about this game that you will get some entertainment from playing it again. Considering Demon Souls and Bloodborne are PS exclusive you won't be getting anything new related to the souls games for some time.

But if you're gaming on a budget. Or didn't enjoy Dark Souls 2 don't bother. Not enough has changed for you to get your moneys worth.

I'm giving this game a yes for recommendation simply because I fit into the former of those two groups. I got money too spare and I was planning to replay the story anyways. Better visuals, remapped NPCs, and other changes are exactly what I needed to improve how immersive the experience will be for me.

Cheers!
