Early Access Review
At its core, I enjoy the game a lot. I can't find myself supporting Pocketpair beyond Palworld unless they start getting more innovative with their games.

Clarifications of Pros and Cons below:

Pros:
+ Plenty of content that makes the game worth its price
+ Reasonably unique content (as long as you haven't already played Craftopia)
+ Multiplayer is fun

Cons:
- Fundamentally a 70% asset swap of Craftopia
- Uses a large chunk of default UE animations (not a big problem)
- Dev supports AI use in games which I assume is how some/most Pals were designed, leading to large similarities between a handful of Pals and Pokemon. *This will be corrected if false.
- Can't change major keybinds like 'Interact' at the time of writing this review; especially bad if you're like me and prefers 'E' instead of the default 'F'.
- Performance will inevitably drop for the host player if not using a dedicated server. All servers need to be restarted after a while anyway.

Overview:
It's Craftopia with monster slaves / ARK with BOTW/Genshin mechanics and monster slaves. "Pokemon with guns" was just a smart marketing move, and the gameplay is 10% Pokemon at most.

The game has enough enjoyable content to be worth its money, and that's why the review is positive. I'm fine with the Pals being similar to Pokemon designs; most people forget the grounds of inspiration and parody. However, the dev leans towards game development laziness with their habit of making extremely inspired games. The release of Palworld is reminiscent of ATLAS aka ARK with pirates which is a rather lazy copy/paste with a theme swap. That being said, Palworld adds a more enjoyable twist to Craftopia that is fun, and they also completely remade the base in UE5 (Craftopia was in Unity). Hopefully Pocketpair grows a bit more on the innovation side of game dev and drops more bangers instead of becoming complacent with Palworld's success.

Good game, rough around the edges. Not a single Inn spawned for me though so I basically progressed off-record.

Promising game and the prologue shows off the game pretty well. I'm hoping every location on the map has a use because I honestly can't think of much more that the game can have without changing the genre.

There are plenty of games that are heavily inspired by (or just rip-offs) of this game, but none will match up to it.

I'm not sure if this is the first game with this exact card/turn-based roguelite format, but I'm pretty sure it's the first game to do it right.

The characters, relics, and cards all add up to unique decks in the end that let you mix and match different playstyles as you please (as long as you have a plan with your deck).

You can run this on a potato and progress will sync with the cloud save as soon as you connect to the Internet, so it's a great offline time killer. I even saw someone in my lecture playing this on his laptop which convinced me to do the same.

The game shouldn't really be played for long sessions and is best played in short bursts throughout the years.

9/10
While you won't exactly get your money's worth of playtime immediately, it'll definitely be more than worth it over time.

It's a great, simple survival game with extremely simple mechanics regarding zombies and building. Once you get pass the basics (which is easy), the game gets rather boring. I've yet to play pvp in the newer version, but if it holds up to the old version, then it should be tons of fun with friends.

Survival in a post-apocalyptic hellzone gone casual.

When this game initially came out, it was promising. Gave it a few years and barely any progress has been made. The devs neglect the community more than any other game out there and fail to understand the concept of "optimization" and "customer satisfaction." The only thing that can be considered progress in this game is the addition of animals and dinos with the assistance of Wikipedia and Google. The sheer greed that spews from this game is epitomized by the huge price and the fact that they COPIED AND PASTED THIS GAME TO HAVE ANOTHER SOURCE OF REVENUE, shoving Dark and Light into early access as Ark 2.0 (the game is the exact same ♥♥♥♥ with a different theme and reskinned/rehashed mobs, materials, and tools... magic is a thing too buy nobody cares about that with dragons and ♥♥♥♥).
Edit: 60 bucks is a stretch for an unfinished product too. Compared to the initial Steam version, it now just has some more content, expensive DLC, a super high price, and a slightly different UI. The game IS graphically pleasing but the optimization is absolutely terrible. I ran the Destiny 2 beta more smoothly on medium than this game on lowest settings possible.

Rig:
CPU: i7-4790K
GPU: EVGA Series GTX 750 1GB VRAM
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Everything else is practically irrelevant in terms of running the game.

My schedule with this game:
Wake up
Play Stardew Valley
Eat while playing Stardew Valley
Go to bed
Dream of Stardew Valley

The life in this game is 10x better than any life you or I will ever live.

11/10 This is the first time girls actually talked to me.
