Put on some power metal (I recommend Beast in Black, Rhapsody of Fire as well as Blind Guardian), run Exterminator, and you'll have the hardest murder boner known to man.

I have been patient with the developer since I got this game back in 2021, but as time went on I really felt like the full experience was never coming, so here's my opinion on the state of things.

This is a clear sign that early access is getting abused, especially in the new found Retro FPS department. Games like this use nostalgia to their advantage to rob you of a hopeful retro experience and drip feed you maybe 1 or 2 levels a year. With the exception of titles such as DUSK, AMID EVIL and ULTRAKILL (Which were released in a very short time span either before or after this game did and are now almost or are already FINISHED), KillPixel should be ashamed that they have sat nearly 4 years now on this with nothing but bi-weekly updates to pad out a news feed for something that should've come to full release back in 2021 or early 2022.

This game is a scam and it should be a good reminder not to invest your time or money too early into something.

Early Access Review
I really like it so far! While playing I'm looking for a few things that could be improved and will be listed below. Keep in mind I will edit this review as I play in order to flesh out a lot of the things I see that could be tweaked.

- A "Press any button to start" feature should be added to loading screen in order to let people read! This may be a 1st world problem but with most people having SSDs now in their computers, the screen goes by way too fast to let me read the lore that's tied to the area.

- Some form of loot filter needs to be added that way my screen isn't cluttered with junk, it is a basic feature of most ARPGs both classic and modern. On a side note of this though, it is paramount that the filter not affect glyphs unless specifically given permission by the user to.

- Add NPC locations to the minimap! Granted I have a bad memory and constantly forget things, but it's an overall nuisance to have to run all around town and try and find the one NPC you need to do something before you head out on a quest.

- Inventory management could be improved a lot. The size of it is fine, but no sorting feature? Nor a quick drop feature? No quick glyph slot or gear switch feature?

• Gear switching. Simply right clicking gear while having the inventory open should switch the gear into it's proper slot in the place of something you no longer want to use.

• Sorting. There should be a dedicated button to sort by either rarity, item type or gear type. On a subnote of this point there should be a food bag that you can put all of your food in due to the fact that it takes up SO MUCH inventory space, there is no excuse for the amount of real estate it takes up at this current time.

• Quick drop. Something like holding control and clicking to rapid drop would save so much time and is a necessary QoL feature.

• Quick glyph slotting. Yes I know some glyphs are meant to be put in a formation, BUT! going ahead and slinging the BASIC glyphs over to the proper window by holding shift and clicking would be a massive time improvement.

- There should be an attack distance threshold for enemies, a great example being the Pontianak Tree. Say for instance I'm attacking it with a bow, it hits the tree because bows have screen wide range. But if I attack with a sword my character will stop a few feet from the Pontianak and swing at the air instead of fully closing the distance and actually hitting it.

With that being said I will open up the comments for people to leave down notes for improvement that I may miss while playing. I love the combat, gives me a warm classic ARPG feel. I'm really excited to see what the finished game is going to look like!

It's one hell of a grind if you aren't willing to fork over your wallet for certain items, but it is the best fishing game on steam currently.

This is the best game I have ever played, and I wasn't even a fan of the genre before starting it.

I'm not good at giving long, storied reviews about the magnificence of a game, even if I absolutely adore it, my mind wanders easily and it's hard for me to keep to my tasks. For a long time I've been looking for a good RPG to play, I was never a fan of JRPG titles solely out of intimidation. I was burnt out for a long time on gaming and practically had to force myself to play something to keep myself from being bored and having nothing to do, then along came this game.

I've never been so mesmerized by a story or world before, the adventure you set out on is so open and free. To me it felt like sticking your head in the freezer and breathing in the ice cold air after a long hard and hot day outside. The mysteries that this world sets upon you to explore, discover, and overcome, has set a bar so high for me in expectation for the rest of the series that I should've saved the game for last. Playing this has now made me wonder how the other games in the franchise might treat me.

I cannot explain to you how happy this game made me over the two weeks that I enjoyed it. Sure there were times where battles got a bit tedious, but that's common if you don't prepare yourself properly. Overcoming that and seeing the next cutscene in the story was always a treat to the heart.

So if you're ready to explore this fantastic world, buy this game and experience an adventure of a lifetime.

HELLO THERE MICHAEL

To those that are at least 25 and older, I don't even need to introduce this game as you've probably seen in it during your childhood or in your early to mid teens. But to those that haven't seen this game at all and are looking for the right game, look no futher.

Simply put, Shadowman is a journey, it will take you through 20 levels of pure eerie voodoo madness, from the masterfully recomposed soundtrack to the sheer atmosphere of every area, you'll spend at least 40-50 hours on a first playthrough, and a few hours tacked on if you want to 100% the game.

Now, keep in mind this is an old game, a lot of what you will experience here will not be for the faint of determination. This is a pure maze and requires a notepad or a good memory, as often for a new player you'll get lost and confused on what to do next. Shadowman urges you to explore every level to it's maximum in order to reach your goal of defeating it's final boss, Legion.

With that being said, as I stated earlier the game comes with brilliantly recomposed soundtrack and you will find not a single better soundtrack in any horror adventure game on this platform, from the subtle tones to ambiance that will make you want to turn the light on. This game brings something back to the table that many games lack today, an atmosphere. One so ensnaring and immersive that even after you turn the game off you'll find yourself humming the music you've heard as you were exploring.

I couldn't give any higher praise to Nightdive for bringing back this legendary title for a new generation of people to experience it, even though I never beat it on the N64 back when I had the original game, I got far enough to know that eventually I would, and with the release of this remaster I finally did. This remaster comes with much needed improvements to the control scheme, frame rate and 144hz+ support, these changes are welcomed with open arms, we even get ultrawide support when most AAA games don't offer it.

For fans of the metroidvania genre, welcome to one of the best entries in the genre.

Welcome to Deadside

The most infuriating fun I've ever had, pretty poor player count though.

The improvement to SS3 are mindblowing, I never thought I'd be able to play the game as smooth as I can now.
