ffxiv if it was good

i beat pre nerf balteus

parts i dont like:
- leveling weapons gets dull once you hit endgame and can't do it naturally through progression. i ended up literally beating a dead horse for like 3 minutes straight for each weapon, mostly because i didn't like those weapons enough to use them normally.
- some weapons are redundant or just kinda bad. the pace of powercreep is pretty fast, but the game is also relatively short so really a minor issue
- some puzzles are more esoteric than fun (could be because i'm just dumb though)
- mimics eat too much money :(
- i hate the floating horses. they're not unfair or hard or anything i just the noise they make (maybe that's an endorsement of the sound design)
- does get a bit easy once you get beefy stats and good weapons/spells, but the difficulty slider does mitigate it well enough so it's not a big deal
- the boss fights aren't bad, but they're definitely not where the game shines
- i like illusory walls, but at some point i ended up just going through every area hugging every wall because i was scared of missing them (i still missed a bunch). not a huge fan

parts i do like (everything else):
- impeccable vibes
- incredible music
- sound design is awesome. those horse heads are not
- enemies outside of the typical skeletons, slimes, etc., have super neat designs. those generic dungeon-type enemies are still pretty cute though
- exploration is a blast, environments have great variation in spite of the setting
- npcs are cute
- basically becomes a movement shooter
- orbital laser
- a lot of magic is fun to use, even if some spells are useless
- pronouns are a welcome detail
- i'm not really a deep lore enjoyer, but what small tidbits i did pick up about the story and world were pretty neat

overall its a good time, relatively cheap and loads of fun. if your game lets me bhop around like its quake and 360 noscope skeletons with the mlgs its the greenest flag possible. please release the ost.

extremely short and not especially deep, but it's an interesting experience and only a dollar. 100% worth it imo
