For Starters

This game was and still is one of my most favorite rogue-likes. I may not have played the first game so I have nothing to base my opinion off other than my couple hours on binding of isaac and some knockoff versions of enter the gungeon.

Gameplay

When I first started playing, it felt really fun. I played all my hours so far with my friends and we can probably all say it was a very fun experience. It felt very different from the other games I used to play. I loved it. After a while, though, it started to feel very repetitive. I mean I could have a lot of fun, but it did feel the same. The characters did give great effect to the repetiveness. Playing with friends did make the game one of the most fun experiences. I would definitely recommend playing with friends rather than alone.

Characters

The characters all have a very unique style. They all play differently, but there are some that are better than others. If you are playing with friends, there aren't too many abilities that can easily work together. There are a couple that I can't think of currently off the top of my hand. I do like how each character, mainly the artificer, have their own story.

Levels, Style, & Stories

Each level I find really beautiful with amazing effects. It feels like, and there probably is, that there is a major story behind linking each of them. I would bother to unlock each codex, but I decided that it wouldn't be best. The style feels beautifully cartoon-ish. Everything just seems to blend between each of the terrains and the lighting. I also love the small attention to detail on what kind of grass is on the stone titan.

Final Words

I probably missed a bunch of stuff and may come back to this in the future. I love this game and would highly recommend it to people who have friends who would also love the game. I hope to come back to this review as the game gets updated. Please tell me some personal stories that you find fun about the game.

This game is much, much better than the newers one. You can even tell this because of the classic mark given.

TL;DR

I have many hours and this game and I completely suggest that everybody at least try this game. You know, refund it if you don't like it. I personally give it a 10/10 and wasted a lot of my life playing it. As a quick side note, the mods for this game, even with the immense amount of them, all change the game and their own way. (That was a long TL;DR.)

For Starters

Now that the quick summary is out of the way, it's time to give a long review to those of you who want to skim read through this or somehow manage to read through my massive amount of words that I put together in who knows how long. I wrote a review maybe when I had about 600 hours, and I just want to update it. This review may be a bit bias because of just how much I genuinely like this game, but I guess it's what makes a review a review.

Gameplay

This game... Where to start. This game will kick you down, throw pocket sand in your eyes, ruin your feelings. When you think you have hope in your world, Randy Random is always there to kick you down and show you your place. But, that is why I like it. Call me a masochist, but this feeling of having to overcome any problem that you may face, and the consequences from failing is what makes this game the most thrilling to me. Be it from a raid coming into town and downing, or maybe even killing, my favorite pawn to a pack of manhunting turtles entering the colony only to consume all your bullets as if it were lunch and then proceed to turn your futuristic colony into a breeding ground to the T U R T L E god.

The Colony

You start off this game by selecting a place to land, with that place turning into your colony (or you can take a nomadic route, but it's not quite as fun). This colony is where your connection to each of your pawns, or colonists, will start to form. You will either begin to fall in love with your colonists and how they interact with their environment. You get to know your own characters, or at least get to form your own mind set about each one. It's best not to get too attached, though. Randy Random, Cassandra Classic, and even Phoebe Chillax will all have a looming threat right around the corner as they prepare to just pound your developed, personal colony with raids, mechanoids, animals, prison breaks, mental breaks, berserks, and pure, uncontrollable chaos.

Warcrimes!!

For some people who are just hearing about the game, adding this section in may just seem random. Oh, how wrong you are. This game houses the development of murders, or people who just play RimWorld in general. During a raid, or even when firing at friendly traders, pawns can end up incapacitated. These people who can't run away are ripe for the picking, be it for recruiting or for their perfect, J U I C Y organs. That's right, if one of your colonist is missing their left kidney, all you need to do a pick a suitable organ "donor." In other terms, just "borrow" one from your prisoners. They don't need both of them, right? Got a dead human and your burial grounds are growing just a bit too big? Just butcher their corpses. Now you have too much human leather and have no use for it? Just make some human leather hats. Got too many hats and not enough heads? Just make some human leather chairs. Human leather is very versatile.

The Community

Say you got the game and wondered what the community is like. "Do they share the same thoughts on ethics?" "What kind of bases do they build?" "Does everyone only praise human leather hats here?" The answer to all of that has no definite question. One thing I'm nearly sure of is the kindness of the community. As far as my experience with people in this community goes, they don't mind helping you out with any troubles you have, helping you to optimize your base efficiency, helping to solve which mod goes where. It tends to be a very good time when chilling in the rimworld subreddit, the discussions page, or even the ludeon forums. Also, if you see Chicken Plucker, give him a hello. I don't really know him that much, but I do remember joking around and saying that he is the superior chicken because he knows how to actually mod and then added him on steam. (He accepted for whatever reason and I have no idea why. Not a really smart play by him)

The Modding Scene

There is no easy place to start when going off about the modding scene. I could say there is a mod for ALMOST everything, but that wouldn't work in my mind with having just a really big part of the game being given a very small section. Whatever you can think of, there is more than likely a mod for it. Don't like the gunplay? Then we got Combat Extended for that. Don't like the base hair or body sprites in the game? Man, are you for sure covered in that part. Want a simple stick to be added into the game? Well, yes. Even that can be added through Stick . There is even the F O R B I D D E N mod. The mod that shall not be named. The mod that should be forever ignored. The mod that is to Lewd to be featured under the steam workshop. This mod that I will regretfully say, that can only be found on the "LL" , is known simply as RJW. It is the rule34 mod, and, hopefully, the only one of its kind. (If your into that mod, go for it. Who am I to tell you which mods you can or can't use?)

Conclusion

This game, no matter how much it kicks you down, always wants makes you get back up to go back to playing it. I honestly recommend it to strategists, masochists, storytellers, anyone who thought about buying this game at one point. It is a one of kind experience (other than dwarf fortress). I can't be certain, but I think that you, whoever is reading this, will have tons of fun playing this game. Maybe not your first play-through., maybe not your second; hell, maybe not even your third. However, I can near definitely say that this will be a very fun experience for whoever wants to play this game. As such, I rate this game a 4/10 . Sorry, I would go 10/10, but Randy just killed my favorite super soldier colonist and now his bionic, bonded animal is rampaging through the colony killing everything in walls. No door or even wall can stop his wrath. The humanity, oh the humanity! Yes, I genuinely recommend this game and really do give it a perfect 10/10

There are many thjings to learn and master in this game. Things are very complicated and the learning curve is insane. However, that is what makes this game fun for me, and i believe for many others as well. I would highly recommend this to many others, no matter what people say. I find it funny that people complain on how complex this game is.

Starters:

This is literally the best game known to man kind. This game has the best graphics, soundtrack, and most importantly, gameplay. Everyone who hates this game is probably a hater that deserves to be dabbed on. This game is the definition of perfection of the entire gaming genre. Everyone will know what this game is in the future. Every civilization will build based off in the magnificient creation. Every war will be stopped to keep the beauty of this game intact. The part that I don't get is the price. Everybody, and I mean everybody, would pay $100 to play this masterpiece. The fact that it is on mobile just means I can admire its beauty at all times of day. I love this game so much and it is my artificial parent. This game is truly artwork, a legendary piece. Anybody who can't see the true beauty and perfection of this lovely game is truly a bad boi. They deserve to be blown up with the bazooka.

Gameplay:

The gameplay is a little bit tedious to learn at first. Probably one of the main reasons why this has some hate. You start off the same as always, a chicken. The hand of god, who saw the potential in this game, drops some feed in a trough. Your goal is to defend the trough from the evil littler boys that try to steal it. You have to fight off rows upons rows of enemies.

Enemies:

There are regular chickens that rush in and out. They have a little amount of health, but can be a bit hard to deal with because of the speed. Next there are the grenade throwing soldier chickens. These ones throw grenades at you in an attempt to kill you. The damage caused isn't limited to
just you, however, as they can kill the cannon fodder of their own army as well. After that there are the big boys. The badasses of their army. They take a LOT of hits, but can't move quick. It is hard to micromanage killing them as well as the small ones at the same time.

Weapons:

While you are just starting out, you have a simple p90. The p90 is a single shot, yet fast firing gun that does only a tiny bit of damage. Over time, you get points to use for other weapons. Points for these weapons are accumulated based on high score. You get a higher score with the more kills, not necessarily being the more time you can survive. Equiping different guns doesn't spend the points, instead it is like leveling. The more kills, the higher the rank. The higher the rank, the more weapons. However, the weapon choice is only limited to two others, the shotgun and the rocket launcher. The shotgun shoots a scatter of 3 pellets. Each of those deals a lot of damage. The recovery/reload time on it is very limited. It takes a while between each reload, sometimes feeling like it takes a very long amount of time. Next we have the rocket launcher, the weapon for the big chickens. It has an aoe rocket, but takes a long time to reload. The damage it deals kind of compensates for this.

Goal:

Survive. What did you expect? Just survive by killing everything.

Overall:

I rate this a good 11/10 chicken feet.

Edit:

It has been a while for me having this game, this old relic. It gathered dust while in the pile of my many games. I recently decided to give it a try, and I felt... completed. My time felt very dim while I was not spending my time playing this. I swear, it brought a tear to my eye to see something like this again. This game saw me through my childhood, and is basically an artificial parent of mine. All I can say is "why?" Why haven't you given this game a try, just like I have? Why haven't you spent $0.99 on this game? Why are you reading this review and probably marking it helpful? Lastly, why are you not leaving a comment telling me how one sided this review is?

(P.S. I legit can't refund this game anymore because I forgot. R.I.P. If anyone wants to give me some money for writing this review and maybe getting a courtesy laugh or a chucke from you, then... yay?)

I had so much fun playing through fallout 4. I played it out 4 times for all 4 endings and every playthrough I didn't once get bored. Yes, Bethesda has some things that should've been added. The thing that i use to make it up are mods. And man, did i have a blast. Quite literraly.
