Great game with very enjoyable gameplay, a wholly immersive atmosphere and an engaging metastory. I do not play card games often but this game was compelling enough to hold me to the end. Its only weaknesses are that it is too short (I need more of it!) and it leaves a lot of the story open, unless you want to go digging for details (where to start digging isn't made clear anywhere). But neither of these points detract from the fact that at its core Inscryption is very fun and sincerely deserves every award it got.

Has a steep learning curve and is very grindy at times, but offers a lot of content and is overall very enjoyable throughout. If the content in the game is not enough for you then there's also a vibrant modding scene using tModLoader which extends its longevity quite a lot. I recommend playing this with the official wiki's guides open on your side so you don't get frustrated

Relatively short and not well optimized (even on the lowest quality I was getting lag spikes) but has fun characters and the later puzzles are well made. If you have an hour or two to spend, try it!

Good game with an interesting story (which touches on politics, ethics and madness themes if you're into that), for which it is worth dropping main missions aside to go hunt for lore, and for a game made almost 15 years ago, the game's graphics still hold. The controls are a bit clunky, but you can do by fine throughout the game using only one weapon or two (even though it might not be what the designers intended).

The relatively short length of the game and few interesting situations meant that I wasn't able to use all weapons and plasmids (which are like spells). The latter half of the game was not as interesting as the first half, but overall it was entertaining enough to carry through and the game turned out to be worth it. Definitely would recommend it.

Do not play this game. It is heavily based on skinner boxes and makes you feel terrible for not spending time with it. After a certain point in-game (when angel claims become instantaneous), there's no idle gains anymore, and you have to spend either ridiculous amounts of time or money to be able to progress and it takes a very toll on your sanity by making you feel bad and that you are underperforming while the game is closed. Do not play anything from this company as they all operate on similar concepts. Uninstall this game if you have it installed. It's a skinner box designed to drain your time.

A nice game to play with friends in your spare time. Has a sort of story which can be skipped and requires strategy and thinking. Don't get the game at it's price though - it regularly drops down on summer/winter sales, which then can be bought by an affordable price.

Tired of boring and easy survival games? Do you think you can handle a greater challenge? Then this game is for you.

Don't Starve is a rogue-like cartoonish-styled survival game with lots of backstory (if you care to go after) and an increased difficulty level. Sent to the world by a dapper tall man by the name of Maxwell, you'll have to survive in this hazardous world in which everything is designed to kill you. Everything can kill you, really. How to survive? There are three meters in-game that display your current health conditions: Hunger, Sanity and Health. Getting too low on any of these will kill you sooner or later.

Hunger and Health are self-explanatory, you eat to lose hunger and use healing items to get health. However, the Sanity meter is a bit more tricky. You get sanity by doing "sane actions", as in picking flowers and eating good food, and lose sanity by performing "insane actions", like staying near monsters, eating spoiled and strange food, and staying in the dark too long. You don't want to get your sanity meter to the bottom, because that is a big risk and can kill you easily, for the shadow monsters begin to appear, as if they were attracted to insanity.

As I said before, this game is rogue-like, which means that if you die, the game's over, the world is over too and you'll have to start all again. The health does not regenerate by time, and in fact, all of the stats are constantly dropping and it is up to you to keep them high. The only stat that will really kill you is health, but getting hungry will starve you to death and getting insane will get you killed by the shadow creatures.

When you start the game, it may seem pretty simple and easy, as you can grab resources however and as much as you want, and build a base and stuff. BUT, what you didn't expect is that every 10 in-game days or so, a group of monsters called "Hounds" come and try to kill you. They hit hard, but you can manage them off by kiting, which is hitting, running and hitting again. Usually, the first time they appear, they come in a pack of 2 or 3 hounds. However, as the game goes on, they start coming in a bigger quantity and in a smaller interval, usually in packs of 10! Fortunately, if you managed to survive up to that point, you'll mostly be able to handle them off.

In Don't Starve there are also seasons! In the base game there are two seasons (Summer and Winter) and with the Reign of Giants expansion, there are two more (Spring and Autumn). There's also the Shipwrecked cycle, which consists of Mild, Hurricane, Moonsoon and Dry seasons, but that it's up to you to discover, since I'm still mastering the base game.

Now, it doesn't seems too bad, some visuals change for eyecandy purposes and stuff, but that is not right. Each season has a different survival technique and you should pay attention on them, since they can also kill you (did I say everything can kill you yet?).

At the beginning of a world, you start in the Summer (Autumn for RoG and Mild for SW, seasons in expansions are quite similar). The whole season should be used to gather resources and build a base in preparation for the winter, because you'll freeze to death there if you don't have a constant heat source. Upon reaching winter, you should have a good food stock.

Oh yeah, did I say about the Grue? The Grue attacks you when you're on complete dark, and does A LOT of damage. That said, always have a torch or a campfire nearby!

In the end, Don't Starve is an unique experience with a steep learning and difficulty curve, but it can surely render some fun. There are countless videos on youtube from people's 100, 500, 1000, 2000 even 4000 days bases! The game is not impossible, but it is also a challenge. It doesn't seem so but the DLCs add a LOT of content, so you should definitely buy them too!

I'd recommend. If you want to play with friends, buy the Together version though.
