The atmosphere in Animal Well is so unique and interesting. It just pulls you in and makes you want to explore every nook and cranny. This game is an absolute masterpiece, a solid 10 out of 10.

The graphics? Non-existent, and that's the beauty of it. The soundtrack? The soothing sound of your own breathing. "Nothing" is a game that encourages you to take a step back, relax, and enjoy the bliss of inactivity.

I am a huge fanboy of the Yakuza series and have played nearly every game in the franchise. I can say with certainty this is one of the WORST games in the franchise I've played. Before I start ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on this game, one thing to understand is that it is a remake of the psvita game that came out a decade ago, so I can't entirely fault them for it being so bad.

Pros:
-It's nice to see so many characters from the previous games in the series reborn while still maintaining their personality and interacting with each other
-This game has some of the most unique and cool looking combat styles in the franchise
-There are a few new minigames to try out that are interesting

Cons:
-The sidequests in this game are too basic, and there are too many of them. Most sidequests boil down to giving character X number of specific items. They are so dull you will actively try to avoid them like sidequest characters have the plague.
-After about 50ish% way through the game, the story starts to get veeeeery lazy, and it's laughable in quality by the last few chapters of the game.
-The combat, while unique, gets very stale very fast. What's worse is they offer you a Brawler style, but it does nothing compared to your other styles.

When remaking this game, they could have at least improved on some of the core mechanics and made the game feel more modern, but at the end of the day, this still feels like a mediocre psvita game.

If you are a fan of the Yakuza franchise and can find this game maybe ~50% off, I would say to buy it to experience the new things it has to offer, but stand alone I'd give this game a 58/100 and WOULD NOT recommend this to anyone new to the franchise. This is definitely in the bottom 5 of games in the entire franchise.
