I've played MTG-A since the Closed Beta in 2018. There a hundred things that I wish they would improve, or fix, or prioritize differently.. and if you follow the communities closely you'll hear a lot of this grumbling. It's all valid- but at the end of the day, Magic is the best game ever made, and this is about the best digital client that's ever come along to play it in. I only want it to succeed and grow and get more features/content over time. Come play MTG!

In the top 3 of my best games of all time. Might be #1. Souls is life.

Great little game, very fun. Took me about 1.5hrs to beat. Recommend grabbing the controller config- worked well w/ my Steam Controller after that. Only complaint is I wish it would render a little higher-res so the pixels would be a bit sharper, but you get used to it quick and it's part of the charm. Need to replay it some more to see if I can beat my previous attempt, and find some new endings. Will likely purchase sequel as well-

Glad I gave this one a shot. Great game.

Very streamlined mechanics within enough depth to get into. RPG-lite perhaps.
Game runs great on laptops, controls are fast and fun.

Doesn't seem to be a noticable graphical difference between running at 720p and 1080p, so feel free to crank down the resolution if you want to get 60fps on your toaster or whatever.

Only thing I don't like is you can't always control when you finish a level, so if there are parts you didn't explore yet you'll miss stuff. Some of the challenge courses are hard. But this is a great simple game that I'm really enjoying.

Have only put a couple hours in so far, but I'll update this if I end up feeling differently.

The core game is fine and similar to 2014, very beginner oriented but that's OK.

Biggest complaint is responsiveness. Needless exageratted animations for *everything* that lurch slowly on my system. We should be able to play a card game simulator on integrated graphics in 2016... it's not asking too much. And the UI seems designed for a touch screen- a lot of the mouse control is unintuitive.

Will keep playing but these are my biggest gripes so far.

This is possibly the most amazing game I've ever played. HIGHLY recommend not reading anything about it, going in blind. Completely unexpected, legimately authentic gaming experience. Wow.

Reign of Giants introduces difficulites that shoud be considered "Expert Mode" only...

I think Vanilla is a great, perfect survival game. I really enjoyed it, alot. And I'm a fan of ultra-hard gameplay- I beat Dark Souls at SL1 and all the old NES and SNES titles back in the day. But ROTG, blind without guides or walkthroughs, is just stupid.

Imagine using all your skills, barely surviving through a harsh winter, insane rains of spring, not knowing how to get by but figuring it out as you go and making it happen. And then, on the first day of summer, this new thing called "overheat" happens... you get a 30 second timer and instant death.

How is that supposed to be a positive experience? There's nothing in the game that prepares you for this. I don't like to read online- I like to play blind- and this is just impossible. Yeah, there are heat-specific items you can craft. But how are you meant to figure that out in one day? It's insta death...

What this game needs are spaced out, "take a breath" moments... where you can spend a week or a few days with *no immenant, looming, environmental death*. Store up some food. Rest up your sanity. Take stock of what you've just been through and prepare for the next. But these moments do not exist. It is constant stress, and the only way through it is knowing EXACTLY what is coming and EXACTLY how to prepare for it. By reading a guide, or going online... I can't imagine how else.

A great game teaches you this stuff as you play, and rewards hard work. This is just punishing. Read ahead and/or install mods unless you want to blindly waste 40 hours....

One of the most addictive, rewarding games I've ever played. Brutally difficult in a way that teaches you to get better. Best game I've played in years, hands down. Highly recommend.
