Still waiting for SONY to make this game available in all regions and officially remove the 3rd party account linking from the store page.

This game requires you to be online in Steam to play, despite no reason for this to be the case.
If you do decide to play online there is an always active voice chat that cannot be turned off, there are no microphone settings, you can only lower the volume of incoming voice chat from other players.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME

Preordered the Physical Collector's Edition months in advance, didn't receive it until a month after launch, Nobody ever made a statement about this or let me know what was going on.

Not that I could've played the game during that time anyway due to the servers not working correctly.
The DLCs are way overpriced.

Even tho the game is always online, there are cheaters, there were cheaters on day 1, they're not super common but at least once out of every 10-20 lobbies there will be a cheater.

Playing with friends is a chore, can't just join through Steam, must join through the stupid ingame friends list even if you're both on Steam.

A long list of features that any modern game should have is still missing, like FOV beyond 90° or a seperate FOV for normal and aiming down sights, Ability to customize the UI, at least the colors of HUD elements.

Fast paced and skill based shooter, with a combat flow somewhat similar to Doom Eternal.

This game used to be based around World War 2 vehicles, originally just planes... then tanks... then at some point boats.
The developers have completly abandoned any development on vehicles of this time period and now only focus on modern MBTs and Jets, the gameplay in these modern vehicles is horrid and incredibly unfun.
For the tanks none of the maps are actually designed by anyone with 2 braincells to rub together, the developers actively encourage spawn camping as well turning any slight loss into an incredibly infuriating nightmare. The ingame economy is not thought out AT ALL, playing through the tech tree of certain nations is just outright impossible because you will run out of currency to afford to play them, not to mention the literally THOUSANDS of hours it will take you to grind to even the mid-tier vehicles in multiple tech trees.

Not to mention this entire game is specifically made to frustrate the players as much as possible so they pay a lot of money to speed up progress. Everything is incredibly overpriced (hey, do you want to spend 99.99 for some pixels? well here you go)

We consumers could really use some competition in this sub-genre of WW2 based tank games as both War Thunder and World of Tanks are run by absolutely terrible companies.

Wave based horde shooter, loads of fun alone, with randoms or with a group...

Just finished the game and I'm speechless, words cannot describe how emotional I feel right now.

I'm saddened to change my review at this point.
Today June 8th, 2023 Starbreeze/Overkill removed matchmaking through Steam from Payday 2 due to adding crossplay with Epic Games Store players.
Sadly this implementation is so horrible that it actually renders the game unplayable online. Until just a couple of hours ago this was a thriving game filled with tens of thousands of players with thousands of Public lobbies ingame. Now there are at most 5-10 Lobbies available thanks to the removal of the distance filter for finding Lobbies so it only searches for Lobbies within a very narrow predefined ping range that cannot be changed by the user.
This change to Epic Online Services also means that it's obviously no longer possible to join friends via Steam or Steam invite, instead an ingame Lobbycode is required and again, this has been implemented in what can only be described as unfinished at best, outright maliciously incompetent at worst.

In its current state I can no longer recommend this game.
