INTRODUCTION:

Control is a third-person action-adventure game developed by Finnish developer Remedy Entertainment.

PROS:

+ Great voice acting and sound design.
+ Interesting puzzle sequences.
+ Looks exquisite (especially with ray-tracing).
+ Excellent atmosphere.

CONS:

- The story lacked a climax. The story ended very abruptly. It did not have any impact and just a week after completing the game, I can not recall what exactly happened in the end.
- Overabundance of collectibles (documents that talk about the lore) . They are everywhere in the game. A few hours in I had already gathered over 100 pages of these. I was reading the first 10, skimming through the next 10 and completely gave up on reading them after 20.
- The gameplay becomes quite repetitive fast. The enemy variation is poor and out of the six guns only two feel worth using.
- Enemy hitboxes are terrible. This is incredibly annoying as you miss shots you should 100% be hitting.
- Dull side quests. Most of the side quests are just boring “go there and destroy that and do that in 5 different locations”. Their only meaning in the game is to make the game look bigger and lengthier.
- The game is way too easy. There is also no difficulty option, so you are stuck with that.
- The DLCs are nothing special and feel like a chore to complete.

CONCLUSION:

The game could do better.
Control is an average game that gets boring quickly. The early hours of the game are the most fun and gradually goes downhill to the end from there.

WORTH IT?

Wait for a discount.

INTRODUCTION:

Red Dead Redemption 2 is an action-adventure game developed and published by Rockstar Games. RDR2 serves as a prequel to the first game. I have not played the first game. The story follows outlaw Arthur Morgan. Arthur must deal with the decline of the Wild West whilst attempting to survive against government forces, rival gangs, and other adversaries.

PROS:

+ Visually RDR2 is probably the most beautiful game I have ever played.
+ The game ran without any issues for my system. Never experienced a crash and ran smooth as silk @1440p.
+ Bounty hunting is really fun in RDR2. I wish there was more of that.
+ The first 20 hours of the game I was pretty immersed in the game.

CONS:

- Lack of a character progression system.
- The map is too big and empty. Traveling between locations is a tiresome task.
- The story is boring and too long. In my opinion the game should have been half as long. I was literally forcing myself to finish this damn game. With the money Rockstar is making you would think they would be able to hire some fine writers to compose a compelling story.
- Money is meaningless. After a certain point in the game (happens pretty early) you just have more money than you can ever hope to spend. Not to mention all the weapons feel exactly the same.
- Dull and repetitive combat and story missions. The combat at the 60h mark is exactly the same as on the first hour. 95% of the story missions follow the same formula: every mission ends with either A) a shootout until all enemies die, or B) you run away on your horse while shooting enemies chasing you down. In the later parts of the game I had to switch to first-person mode to have ANY sort of variation in combat and story.
- Numerous plot details are left unexplained and ambiguous.
- Horse controls are absolutely horrendous.
- Fast travel is very limited and poorly executed.

CONCLUSION:

Unsatisfactory experience.
RDR2 is an okay game for about 20h, but then becomes a chore to play and finish as you grow tired of the game mechanics and realise how bad the story really is.
Is it worth the full price? No. If you must, buy RDR2 at a discounted price.

POST SCRIPTUM:

I should also mention that I only played the single-player mode. I bought this game for that. I have not touched Red Dead Online nor am I interested in it.

INTRODUCTION:

SpeedRunners is a 4 player competitive platformer where your objective is to be the fastest runner in a race. You can hinder other people's race with different power-ups.

PROS:

+ Remote Play Together works great with this game.
+ Soundtrack is great.
+ A lot of fun with friends.
+ Cool characters.
+ Workshop support.
+ Art style is amazing.
+ Excellent mechanics.
+ Once you get the hang of the game, running around feels very satisfying.
+ Decent amount of vanilla maps, although you have to grind a bit to unlock them all.

CONS:

- Very lackluster story mode.
- Playing against strangers online is not really fun.
- The game gets a bit tedious after a 1-2h play session.
- Not worth full price.

CONCLUSION:

A great game to play with your friends.
However, after 1 or 2 hours of it at a time, you get tired of the game pretty fast. Otherwise, pretty fun experience. This game is compatible with Steam's new Remote Play Together feature, so basically only 1 person from a group has to actually buy the game to play as a group. I don't recommend buying this at full price, but if it's on a discount, it's a great buy. I couldn't be bothered to play online, as it's not nearly as exciting, as is to play with friends.

P.S. A controller is highly recommended to play this game.

INTRODUCTION:

Dying Light: The Following is a story expansion to the zombie game Dying Light. It continues the story of Kyle Crane after the events of the base game.

PROS:

+ Playtime is equal to the base game (approximately 10 hours)
+ Visuals are great.
+ Satisfying ending.

CONS:

- Obnoxious voice acting.
- A LOT OF DRIVING (about 75% of the whole game is spent in your buggy).
- Boring and mundane side quests.
- Lack of any useful weaponry versus zombies aside from rifles.
- Basically no parkour elements which made the base game kinda cool.
- Boring story.
- Dull characters.
- Random difficulty spikes.

CONCLUSION:

Not a good story expansion.
This doesn't even feel like it's Dying Light. If you expect Dying Light, then this is far from it. The lion's share of the game is basically just off-road driving on a map infested with annoying zombies you can't possibly kill with your weaponry. You are better off spending your money on an actual rally game (Dirt games perhaps). If you decide to buy this, then I recommend playing with a friend or two. If I had played this solo, I wouldn't have finished it. It is just too boring.

Shoutout to @reflymusic for playing with me.

Girls call me Daddy in this game. That alone gives it a 10/10.

I tried giving this game a chance, but I just can't. Mafia III is garbage. The gameplay is repetitive. Story is dreadfully boring. Gunplay sucks. I loved Mafia II a lot, but this game doesn't even compare to Mafia II. There is no Mafia "vibe". Mafia III feels just like a random action-shooter game. And how the hell does a game made in 2016 have only 3 radio channels? Ridiculous! Only positive thing about the game is the visuals. It really looks stunning.

DO NOT BUY. BUY MAFIA II INSTEAD IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED IT.

A fantastic sequel to a fantastic game.
A great story and challenging puzzles will keep you occupied for hours.
