Hello Folks!

I've given up on life, so I spend my time here instead! The very edge of the world with the perfect people about to join me in my cause. This is a place where I feel that I am understood and I can actually learn something. So, after nine months in developement, hopefully, we can play some video games!

Sincerely,
Sgt.LMAO

This game is pure, unadulterated and raw fun. The levels are longer and packed with more collectibles of more types, yet the game somehow only takes up about half the disk space of DOOM 2016. The inclusion of an arena mode in the game's hub room (called the prison) is a very welcome addition for when you just want to experience the detailed, gruesome combat without worrying about other surrounding aspects. The soundtrack certainly delivers in this game, even allowing you to pick up some music from other id software games as collectibles.

You no longer die when you fall off a level, but instead respawn at a nearby location approximately where you fell. The movement is also greatly expanded and improved, allowing you to swim, climb walls, dash (upgrade this quickly), fling off of monkey bars and break certain cracked walls.

The chainsaw plays a much larger role in DOOM Eternal compared to it's predecessor, acting as a way to quickly gather the in this game much scarcer ammo from lower tier enemies, rather than quickly eliminating the tougher guys (which you rarely have fuel for). For this purpose, one bip of fuel recharges quickly over time, and the game features a plethora of ways of executing the bigger demons in your way. Take for example the BFG or it's rapid fire counterpart which you can unlock, or an immensly powerful sword for one hit KO:s on basically any enemy.

DOOM Eternal is much harder than DOOM 2016, and will feature encounters where you almost laugh at how ridiculously many enemies the game throws at you. However, on normal difficulty I had no problems getting through it without getting frustrated, especially because this game gives you multiple lives and only resets you to a checkpoint when they run out (which never happened for me) as well as multiple ways of regenerating ammo, health and armor.

Some levels have cheat codes as collectibles, which can be activated when replaying any level. The ability to progress, collect items and such still function mostly as it would during a normal playthrough, allowing you to master a level while having infinite ammo, all runes, infinite beserker mode and much, much more.

If you go for all the secrets, expect a 13 hour long game (as seen by my playtime).
