Thirty minutes into matchmaking queue before I finally gave up.
Hope you like matching with randos, no solo play, no lobby control, not even a way to set whether you're doing stealth or loud.

Just a thirty minute+ wait to be dumped in with people you have no reason to trust.

If you're going to miss any Dark Picture's game, this is a safe skip. Part of the Dark Picture's strength has always been creature design, but by focusing on a serial killer: all we have in this game is a guy in a cotton shirt.

Have the wiki ready, if you intend to save everyone. There's some "Who do you kill?" choices, where the only way to know which option saves both is to have done it already.

Only Dark Pictures game to use camera tricks to hide the Curators massive dumptruck butt, as well. Big disappointment.

I kind of felt like a kid playing a Sonic game again. Going fast, through the level.

Ignore the 30% of people, too impatient to get a day 1 patch or update their graphics cards. This game is great, it runs fine on my 2070 at max settings, and it's all the From Software difficulty you look for.

Frankly, I find it easier than Sekiro, and harder to navigate than Bloodborne.

A very good game. It might just be From Software's best, if not for the massive hatred that spread for it being a little different.

This game really does kick ass. Once you get over the learning curve, and turn down the saturation, there's a nice skill-based shooter here that makes you feel music with every percussive click of the weapon.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this game like I did all the Danganronpa titles. The suspense is real, and the premise is solid. I did really like my time with this gmae.

That said, $80 is steep for such a technical mess. It really is a disaster on all fronts. I guess I'll segment going forward to explain what I mean.

Display:
The fullscreen flatly doesn't work, prefering to abandon the setting you choose for whatever it feels like when prompted. Relauching the game only helps for so long. If you know about Alt+Enter it's not going to ruin your experience. I only had framerate issues once, which I belive to be a driver error and the Psych-Pop aesthetic holds up as normal. It would help if the game would stick to the setting you choose, or provided a way to correct them without relaunching.

Audio:
The soundtrack for this game is probobly the worst of the series, if I'm honest. It's still good: it's fine. It's just not catchy, or really noticable like in previous titles. What is a real issue is that cutscenes are incapable of synching visual and audio elements. Tracks will end over a minute before the visuals do, and in a certain minigame where you are required to press buttons in time with a metronome it becomes impossible to trust the rhythm given to you, as the visual prompt lacks any connection to what is being heard.

Controls:
A real wreck. Every time you press a button in trial, in coversations or just getting through narroration it's random whether your imput will be recognised properly, recognized as a different imput, recognized as a repeated imput several times in a row or just ignored. This is especially aggrivating in Debate Scrums, where the challenge isn't problem solving; it is having the menu behave itself for you to match a question.

A real disaster of a port, which didn't start being a problem until this entry. I can't reccomend it at this price (or even half off) until they make it properly playable. If you can get through the technical limitations, and find yourself enjoying it then by all means enjoy this entry

Could play it just fine, with some mods that stripped out the bells and whistles. Bethesda broke that, and now I can't play it.

A game you can't play is literally 0/10.

Let's all do Yahtzee a favour and pretend the sprite tearing is a sanity effect.

What you have to understand before you play this game is that Coda exists. Whether or not Coda is real is irrelevent. If Coda was a real person of real struggles or a fictional one for the game doesn't matter. I reccomend you watch the trailer. By playing this game you agree to follow the narrorater on a journey. Coda disapeared, and his work with him. The Narrorator invites you to construct a persona and story for Coda depending on what you pull from his levels. If you agree that Coda is real, and agree to solve the mystery. That's when you will find glory in this game. This isn't a game so much as interactive art. If you ever tried to play psycologist for a friend, or just like to try and help those in need. Play this.
