Really, this a great game. If you love the more grid-based XCOM games, you'll really dig this FPS take on the series.

That is, if you can get the damn thing to play longer than five minutes without crashing.

Let me put it the way that so many other people have accurately put it: if you enjoyed Saints Row: The Third, this game is more of pretty much exactly the same. I don't mean there's no new content - there's TONS - but the general game (graphics, controls, city layout, type of side quests/activities, etc.) is exactly the same. And you'll find no complaints here.

Doesn't work from the word go. A flaming scam, like I think it actually, seriously might be. Steam Link was always my envisionment of the cadillac of Steam gaming (at least any kind that would ever be affordable to me), and now I've finally got the set-up I thought would be a dream and it can't even run the most basic ♥♥♥♥.

Desperate enough to shell out even more cash to hopefully make it work a little better? Here, let them make that so much worse for you. So. So much worse. Ever since this software was installed (and we were playing games for a bit directly before so the correlation was obvious), my Steam Link can't enter handle basic streaming from my laptop with VirtualHere running without crashing completely, becoming unresponsive, and needing to be unplugged. And all attempts made to connect USB devices of different kinds produce no connectivity with the laptop. In short, consider playing your Steam Link with anything but a measley 3 STEAM controllers (and for ♥♥♥♥'s sake, 3?? Why not the very, very standard 4? Did you have a fourth friend you guys hated as kids or something?) potentially impossible.

You ruined my night, Valve. I'm so disappointed.

Got an hour or so in and was literally nodding off and falling asleep from boredom.

They provide a "The Story So Far" video in the main menu before you start, which you would think would catch you up enough to play the game sufficiently. But instead you quickly realize all this game does is ramble off vague dialogue at you like a visual novel, and there's absolutely nothing to emotionally or contextually hold onto if you haven't played the first one (which I have not, for clarification).

The very minor controls they give you are some seriously mediocre point-and-click mechanics that have been done so much better by more games than I have time to sit and list, but if you've ever played and enjoyed the Myst series, this game will disappoint you.

The visuals itself are fairly pretty - it's nice how they've used framing to really show you exactly what they want you to see - but it's still about original Skyrim level graphics, so not nearly redeeming enough.

Unless you're a big fan of the original, don't waste your money.
