this game takes way too long to get into and with so many other farming/life sims out there with nicer art styles, a more enjoyable gameplay loop and cuter characters I don't know why you'd bother with this one.

Very cute, the effort and love put into this game for it to be FREE as well?? Really does feel like you're creating a unique experience for the character you're playing and very excited to see what differing dialogue options and other choices lead to in subsequent play-throughs. Have not even finished one play-through yet and would suggest this game on what I've experienced so far alone :)

Very fun game with enjoyable characters. Watching the story unfold in front of you and changing your mind on who's guilty on who is not is a treat. I did start to get a little worn out by the end jumping from place to place, even with fast travel it can be a bit of a slog. Especially to go to a new person and all you get from them is "lol i dunno"
Even still, gorgeous aesthetic, incredibly interesting world and story. I wanna give shinji a little kiss.

Early Access Review
As it stands this is a crazy fun game very deserving of the hype, even while it's in early access. The gameplay loop is enjoyable, the pal designs are nice, the map feels /huge/, it's generally challenging and it does what it does well. Thus far my only complaints about it relate to bugs.

I've only played about 15 hours and I've noticed multiplayer is a little framey, particular for the person who joins. I've also had a few instances where enemies and pals get stuck on things (the base i've built, trees, in the ground). Had an issue where upon reloading somewhere i feel into the ground and into the water with no way to climb back up (I really do think you should be able to fast travel to your unlocked points from anywhere, especially while it's bugging like it is) so I lost all my stuff. During raids ive had enemies fall in one specific point in the ground and I cant kill them (luckily if it goes on long enough it seemingly declares you the winner?) and ive had my pals unable to move between the wall and where I placed my palbox.

That being said i'm hopeful these will be fixed. If some of the bugs and general glitchiness is patched out this game is a solid 10/10 and even with the issues at hand it's still sitting at a solid 8/10. Calling it a mix of ark and pokemon is probably the most accurate descriptor and honestly either game could definitely take some tips from Palworld on how to do better tbh.

Fun little memory game. Perfectly eerie first time around. I feel very close to the man walking round and round in the subway

I've spent so many hours in this game, and I can't praise it enough.
On release it was outwardly unfinished and yet even THEN I would've given it at 10/10.
~6 months later with all the updated extras, all of which have been free, I can't really praise the game enough.
The devs are interested in and take on community feedback, and the game itself is such an obvious labour of love and a wondrous love letter to dnd. I love these characters. I love the story. And every new save I play is at least a little different then the last.

Sunset Overdrive pokes fun at the stereotype of "Cool" in its dialogue. Some of it still comes off as cringey but even all these years later it manages to get a giggle out of me. Its biggest strength is its gameplay, it doesn't take itself seriously whatsoever and the result is a fun shooter where you mess around with ridiculous weapons and take on enjoyable side quests. The customisation options, though limited compared to what you might get in something from today still manage to make your character standout (honestly my biggest gripe with it is the body type selector being kind of limited). As of writing this I've probably played through it about 3 times (including when I played it on release on console) and will probably continue to pick it up on and off throughout the years. I'd do anything for a sequel to this game, or at the very least something that feels like it.

One of the more relaxing, enjoyable rhythm games i've played. Cute style, fun songs.

Charming characters, nice customization options, super heartwarming, great humor. Just an extremely good game. Only downside is the game isn't long enough, you can pretty much knock it out in a few hours.
