This game was great. It was hands-down the best horror game I've ever played, and probably the first one I've ever played. The story and atmosphere was absolutely fantastic, and after all these years I have the urge to play it again. I highly recommend this game for anyone that hasn't already played it.

This game was great when I beat it in 2015. I'd go far as to say it's one of the top 3 best horror games I've every played.

The atmosphere (asylum) is great, and the jump scares and chase scenes make you anxious as hell. The game does exactly what it's meant to do, scare the s**t out of you, while also having a great story.

It was super fun to play through once, and then the developers released the whistleblower DLC, which was great fun all over again with a new shorter story. I highly recommend this game to anyone that likes to play scary games and get what seemed like constant jump scares.

I got this game on both PC and the Xbox One X. I beat it on PC, while not playing much on the One X.

As for the story, I was disappointed how the decisions on how you start your "V" story didn't affect the outcome of the game much whatsoever, or any of the missions really at all. I feel like the element of choice in becoming a Nomad, Streetkid, and Corpo were way overhyped.

That being said, in my first three or four hours of the game, maybe even longer, I wasn't really even feeling the story. Then, when you meet certain characters later in the story, it really picks up. I would go as far to say if one or two characters that you meet along the way weren't in the game, it would be a pretty boring game.

I've seen online how everyone is experiencing terrible bugs, but in my playthrough I only ever had one bug once that forced me to restart the game, and the others were minimal and didn't bother me. I have an RTX 2070 Super, and it ran pretty well on high settings, but ultra or above on my 4K monitor frequently would dip below 30 FPS.

If you have a computer that can handle the game, I definitely think it's worth buying and playing through to the end. Definitely don't give up a few hours in, because it does get a lot better. There are rumors of several free singleplayer DLC's coming out as early as next year, and I think they have a lot of potential in expanding on what became a pretty good story. Also, another plus for this game was the soundtrack. It was really well done and sounds amazing throughout the game.

The biggest disappointment was there not being much replayability, because the story missions and side missions will be the same every time. Also, if you don't have the best PC or am playing on consoles, it's probably worth waiting until the game gets ironed out the next couple of months. I will go ahead and recommend this game, just because the story is worth a playthrough, and I know how hard the developers are working to make things right with all of their fans. Also, Keanu Reeves is in the game, lol.

If this game ran on my PC for me like it has on many people's consoles, I'm sure my review here would be very different. I recommend this game, but I also recommend you consider waiting a month or two for them to make the game all-around more stable.

I've loved this game since I had it on Xbox 360 back in 2009. To this day, it holds its own extremely well, and the mod potential for the PC version is just amazing. I can't think of anything bad to say about this series other than they never made a 3rd. Although, Back 4 Blood is coming, and I'm excited.
