Masterclass is mixing gameplay and horror, not a single thing I can say this game did bad beyond maybe its rather lackluster ending, but ending things isn't very easy so i'll let it slide. Jumpscares were rather repetitive and were almost comical due to how often they appeared but it never felt like that took away from the experience. Music was incredible though I felt kept playing at innapropriate times, maybe that was due to how I was playing. Incredible visuals and artstyle, gore was off the charts but never felt like too much, pratically done perfectly, I didn't get too into the lore, and the notes being lengthy as they were sort of put me off but with the story I was presented I didn't hate it. Had just such an incredible formula that I wish more horror game would innovate off of, super excited to play the DLC and the Sequel when I get a chance

Outlast is a masterclass in making you feel like the dumbest person alive for continuing to play. The darkness isn't just aesthetic, it's personal. It wants you to suffer. Your camera's night vision is basically the only thing standing between you and a full emotional breakdown and the battery indicator drains like it has a personal vendetta against you. Every corner hides something. Every sound is a threat. Every time you think you're safe, the game laughs at you. And not in a fun way, more in a you're not sleeping tonight way. Is it actually scary? Genuinely, yes. No jump scare padding, just pure dread.
