Disco Elysium is a game of misery and sorrow, about mistakes and the past, about one's own powerlessness in the face of a cruel spiteful world, and why that's just fine. Why we will trudge through the bleakness uncrueling world with each other.

It's not about changing the world. Most of the time we can't. But in our day to day, if we can make one person's life better, in changing someone's else's world we've done the best we can. Everything from making a child not need to stand in the snow to mending our past's mistakes is meaningful to us and the people close to us, even if the world doesn't care. That itself is a beautiful thing.

Disco Elysium is a game about that beauty we can find in this tragic and bleak world, and how we can carry on despite everything. It's extremely funny at times, but it's utterly devastating and can shake you to your core. The world is wild, unpredictable, cruel, yet beautiful at the same time. This was my takeaway from Disco Elysium, and I think everyone would find something to take from this game if they invested time and thought into it.

no but really this game is pretty decent. story is interesting enough, though a lot of people have complaints with the ending, the journey is pretty good imo. Be warned it is short, so whether or not you're willing to drop money on a game as short as this is up to you. 4-6 hours depending on how much you take your time or if you're prone to getting horribly lost like a dumbass (like me).

This game is fantastic. A very fun spin off of the Oregon Trail, with some interesting mechanics to it. If it ever goes on sale I would highly advise picking it up + the final expansion.

6/10, it's a game.
