The code for this game came bundled with a graphics card I purchased in 2010. In fact, that predates this steam account.
I kept that code in the GPU box for for several years before I finally decided to activate it.

Do I recommend the game? Not really. Especially not in 2023 or whatever year this is.

Great game.
Nah, not really. But it is the game you need to play Garry's Mod! Otherwise you'll be wandering around servers that look like those "Did you install CS:Source?" memes.

I find this game is most enjoyable with a lobby of 8-10 friends who are in a voice call, are willing to play by the rules and willing to stick around for more than a single match.

Public lobbies are a thing, and while some people may like them, the public games tend to be a crapshoot. There's no voicechat and meeting times tend to be sorely limited. Players who contribute insight on who the imposter is to a meeting tend to be ejected and the crewmates who voted for that crewmate also forget what that crewmate said. You also get the opposite situation where somebody will just hit the button, do nothingbut type the name of random with no further information and that random victim will be ejected. I've also seen people successfully eject black for "being black" and imposters throw the game by saying who the other imposters are. The meetings in public matches can be really crappy and the list to why can go on.

Some other things that are annoying about public matches are the people who log out because they didn't get imposter and the cheaters who work together in a discord call and the other cheaters who use hax.

BTW, Adamska smells.

I played through this and there is a lot to say that's probably already been said.
Despite being a longtime fan of Beneath a Steel Sky, the development of Beyond a Steel Sky went right under my radar all the way up to its release.

I can say that it was quite a satisfying experience and was a rollercoaster of emotions much like the first game, and definitely feels like the direct-sequel that it is.

However, that's not to say that it's perfect. I'm not sure if this has any game-overs like the Beneath a Steel Sky, as I haven't died a single time during my only playthrough. In Beneath a Steel Sky, I recall losing several times during my first playthrough and the puzzles here seemed a little too easy. So easy, in fact, that thinking a bit differently broke the sequence of some dialog and revealed other oversights. (Spoiler: One instance was when Joey's cleaning droid was broken and had his board removed, but he was needed in a conversation and replied while being a falmeengulfed empty shell)

Even though this feels a bit short, wasn't much harder than a visual novel and had a few bugs, I'd definitely recommend this to fans of The first game and would recommend the two games as a whole.
HINT: Beneath a Steel Sky is free these days, so play it with SCUMMVM or on a proper MS-DOS build before playing this one. Especially the version with CD-Audio. The characters sound the same and Joey is one helluva wisecracking smartass in both.

If I did have to nitpick, some of the darker tones, dark humor, gore and use of stronger language seem to be a bit nerfed compared to the first game, but I guess I don't mind that too much. This is still a masterpiece I highly recommend and meshes pretty damn well with the original, aside from trying to scroll through the inventory while trying to use an item on an NPC, just to have that NPC walk away and close the menu. That was such a pain in the ass.

EDIT: ONE MORE THING!
I finished the entire game in about thirteen hours, but apparently only one of the achievements successfully unlocked and no screenshots were taken. I'm not sure if this game has a problem with the steamAPI or if steam itself had an issue, but it looks like I'm gonna have to play this one again.

The marketing and novelty are great, but the nearly unplayable rage is not worth it.

Early Access Review
It's not bad.

It's a lot like an expansion to Luigi's Ghost Mansion from NintendoLand.
I saw an ugly-ass ghost. I let that ugly butthead know it's ugly and that made me feel good in front of my friends.

Early Access Review
UPDATE:
September 7, 2020:
With the recent updates, I see a lot decent effort put into continued development and it seems that quite a bit of feedback has been taken into consideration and implemented.
I definitely look forward to what this game has to bring, though despite the polish, it's still a bit rough. I'd like to have the option of faster dialog boxes and possibly a way to skip the tutorial as well.

I'm also not a huge fan of the music at the very beginning, but some of the other songs are great.

Unlike Drop, this one wasn't made in Flash and is instead being developed in Gamemaker.

It's a pretty different game and I'll consider this as an early review and revise it later, but my impressions may be the same overall.

First off; it isn't documented well enough (Aside from a bit of information in the steam-page's description) nor does the game itself give you much guidance or let you know what the controls are. That's not good as finding the controls are a bit finicky and you could actually lose as soon as you start.

The game itself starts you out by defending your country or something as the opening describes, but then saving an attacked woman opens a portal (The RedGate) which warps you to another world with totally different graphics and has you playing as some chibi beast and has you attacking children or whatever. From what I understand, these two worlds are connected and the player's actions in one benefits the other.

It's quite a trip and I'm not sure what's going on. If it wasn't such a pain in the ass, I'd keep playing it, but I'll hold off for now.

I can't say I'd recommend any of Uora's current games right now, but I can easily see this Indie-Dev bringing enjoyably surreal titles to Steam in the future!

PS: It's Early-Access, so I'm hoping there'll be some features content that bring balance, polish and overall greatness to Red-Gate because I really want to like this and am more than willing to give it a chance!

I can't recommend it right now, but it could be a gem in the rough that's worth keeping an eye on, so I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND FOLLOWING IT!

Wanna buy this game, but not sure what it is?

I'll tell you what it is;
it's a half meg game made in Adobe Flash Professional CS5.5 - build 349. (The rest of the 20-some megs is because Adobe Air is included)

SoundController.as is a thing, but it doesn't seem to be used and if it is, the only two sounds this game contains are "1_Wind.mp3" and "2_Walk.mp3" which are both quite unflattering. For example, "1_Wind" sounds like somebody brought a low quality microphone outside and started recording.

The gameplay itself has been explained by many reviews. It's not good and very strange. I can't recognize what most of the symbols in the GUI are supposed to represent, but did eventually find out that the letter "P" was actually a fishing rod.

It's really all over the place, much like this review, and nothing about it feels rewarding. In fact, it not only feels as if it's unfinished - it feels like a very early prototype of a proof-of-concept somebody would make while learning actionscript.

I will admit that the graphics are nice and remind me of something you may see on the Atari 5200 and this could honestly be something great if some effort was put into planning and development.

This game discriminated against my use of the word "♥♥♥♥♥♥" and banned me from GC for a few hours, despite there being a word filter.

Myself and others have spent good money for this sandbox simulation game, but it refuses to let us play the game the way we wish.

Due to Berserk's hateful discrimination, I will no longer be purchasing software from Berserk for myself or others.
Eat a ♥♥♥♥, meanies.

I'll probably edit this with a more genuine review later, but this is what you get for now.
