This game has potential, but it's just not there yet. I was really excited for this game, and I've had a reasonably fun first 10 hours in the game, but I hate to say that at this point in time, the game is a bit underwhelming. It's gorgeous and charming yet it feels bare. You can build a city, manage a dozen simple logistics lines, and maintain slow growth. Afterwards, it's just rinse and repeat. The combat is yearning to be total war-esque, but winning is already accomplished by just supplying a bigger army than your opponent. After that, it's point and click combat. I love the idea of having multiple cities with specializations, but the specialization trees are really simply and not as impactful as you'd hope.

I adored Banished, but if you played Banished, you've played this game in its current state. I'm rooting for the dev and really hope to be pleasantly surprised when I come back in a year or two to a more complete and innovative game, but today, I just don't find myself wanting to play much more.

The best parts--the graphics (fantastic!), immersion/vibes, and potential. The disappointing parts--point and click combat, simple and repetitive logistical tasks, lack of late game goals, unfulfilled potential.

Very good control set up and responsiveness is also fantastic. Played 2 games and then decided it was totally 100% worth the 0 cents I paid for it. Would recommend

I oculdn't think of a review, so here's a recipe for blueberry muffins instead:

Heat oven to 375°.
Grease 18 regular-size muffin cups (or 12 large size muffins).
In bowl, mix butter until creamy. Add sugar and beat until pale and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating after each.
Beat in vanilla, baking powder and salt.
With spoon, fold in half of flour then half of milk into batter; repeat.
Fold in blueberries.
Spoon into muffin cups and sprinkle topping onto each muffin.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes, until golden brown and springy to touch.
