Honestly I'm pretty dissapointed with this release. I always knew Capcom was pretty questionable when it comes to game releases such as Street Fighter V and Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, but I never realized it was this bad. I was so excited to finally the game on PC since I haven't played a Monster Hunter game since Monster Hunter 2G on the PSP, but that excitement quickly turned into frustration. The main feature I was so excited about was simply being able to have a fun time playing with friends and go through the adventure/story together.

NOPE, FUN NOT ALLOWED.

Friends can't play the main story quests together because various questionable reasons such as "not everyone has seen the cutscene yet" or "you already played this mission so you're not allowed to play it again"... Okay... I guess we'll just play one of the optional side quests then, no problem.

The servers go down every 10 seconds and everyone disconnects during the middle of the quests. Sometimes you can't even get everyone in the same lobby together. OH, did I mention you can't simply join friends through your Steam friends list? Well, you can't, just because. You have to manually get your session ID and give it to your friends. Then they have to type it in and if they are lucky, they will be able to join. Not to mention the constant Steam notifications spamming you with "Friend is playing Monster Hunter" every 5 seconds... I also omitted a lot of other obvious problems because the list is too long.

Knowing Capcom, they won't have a hotfix for a while which is a shame. Maybe in a month? Who knows. I lost faith in Capcom's ability to launch a game without game breaking issues and their lack of communication with the community to address these issues. I seldom write reviews, but after paying $60 for a well known series made by well known company, I ended up writing this very long review.

I just wanted to play with friends...
