Its a paradox game so expect a bit of a higher learning curve,. but for those who love the macro/grand strategy side of things this is a great game. when in doubt check youtube videos for new strategies or silly ideas

Free to play, a market you can buy and sell stuff on for cosmetics that don't affect gameplay (even if it changes an attacks animation or coloration it doesn't make it nearly invisible or anything for example) and plenty of heros to choose from, and many can be played in multiple ways. so like league, but better.

EDIT:The economic roadmap is out, and its the most positive change i've seen in years. I'm still heavily suspicious, Butif they (the devs) keep their word, they may very well have redeemed themselves. Please see the last review below.

Ten years ago, I would talk to my friends about this game. how good it was, how it was always improving, how you didn't need real money to get far but it was good to support the game. Even if i took a few months off i'd come back eventually because i genuinely loved this game, long before it was on steam.

Now? No. Don't spend a dime on this game which once prided itself on being free to play and thrive. They've admitted on forums that the lower 60% are DESIGNED to lose money at all times, via economy "balancing" while premiums generate huge money with cheap repairs and are placed where they'll do relatively well in any fight. The devs have become passive aggressive (No one wins if the game gets shut down, in response to long time criticism on their forums)

At low tiers you can still make money, but this has lead to high experience vets curbstomping newbies. I am guilty of this too due to the economy issues.

Bomber gunners are nigh useless outside of sim mode, sometimes refusing to open fire because if they're not leveled your bomber is longer than their engagement range while having some of if not THE highest repair costs in the game.

I loved this game, once upon a time. It is a shell of its former self, corrupted and disgraced. Should any decent competition. COMPETANT competition come into existence the player numbers will drop rapidly.
