Certainly the best WH3 DLC so far.

Great new faction, fun mechanics and OP.

Price is high and just on the cusp of worth it. £5 increase in price over equivalent DLCs in WH2.

The big problem with this game - it is not fair. Enemies spawn in right behind your squad and NOT at the designated spawn points. You have motion trackers that cover the entire map yet enemies just suddenly appear behind your team. This has only started happening in serious way on level 3. And it is NOT a fair mechanic. Spawn points are marked on the map. Major enemies are announced. They should spawn in immediately NOT just when the team gets close to the "trigger point", as a lot of the mechanics are set up so you can trap the aliens like the sentry guns and noise-making scanners. It prevents setting up appropriate traps and kill zones and hiding the team to stop hunts from happening. It might just be lvl 3 is a bad design. Now I am a Souls player and I love tough games. But Souls games are tough yet fair. This is not. Be aware. I know I read similar comments before buying this game and I thought "what a ♥♥♥♥♥", bring it on. But now I am actually experiencing it for myself I can say for sure it is NOT fun and NOT fair.

This game also plays well in the background which is why I have a huge amount of "time" playing; I have not played it more than about 20hrs at this point, just I use this PC as a server and need it to be on 24/7 and have not turned off Aliens, why it says 260hrs tho I have not played it even close to this.

WARNING : It is clear that the Skaven have infiltrated CA management. Their current pricing plan plan has most likely been conceived of by the mind of Lord Skrolk himself. It is just as disgusting. And it is as see-thru as any other Skaven plan.

Legend of Total War in his recent video has got it 100% right about CA. CA are funnelling money from TWW to their other projects and bilking the players to fund these developments. They know they have a loyal fan base they can milk. And I am saying NO to this. I dont want to fund Pharaoh or Aliens or whatever other BS. I want Warhammer!

And yes I am unashamedly jumping upon the review bomb band wagon.

CA deserves it. Clear the rats out, sack some management, and focus back on TWW.

Now I have bought every TWW game + DLC since Warhammer 1, and spent an obscene amount of time playing; yet : I have deliberately NOT bought this DLC. The first time ever. Not because I cannot afford it but because I am choosing to take a moral stand against CA's business practices. They disgust me. And they should disgust you. Vote with your wallet, it is the only thing the rats controlling CA value as much as cheese and warpstone.

THIS is how a game port should be done. The new standard. Great work from Climax Studios. Not found even a single bug or problem in several hours of play. Keyboard remapping and respect for M+K is done right. Not just simulating analog stick movements with the mouse. Great port. Great game.

UPDATE: Just after I wrote this review, of course fate would deal a different hand. I could not progress in my current run which I had been playing for several hours and explored every nook and cranny had the 200% health and was about to fight 2nd boss when teleporters stopped working. I found out this is something that has been in Returnal since day1 release on PS5 and whenever a new patch is applied, the current save gets corrupted and one must restart the run.

Secondly, in the middle of a fight at start of biome2 in that very second run game hard crashed with the dreaded error message that many others seem to be getting. Very sad as this game did work perfect for several hours.

Having said all of that, there are just bugs, and the core port is great. I have faith they will be squashed soon. Sometimes the port is terrible and just fixing all bugs won't redeem it; this is not the case with this port, so many things have been thought through and done right on PC, especially how M+K have been treated as core input devices and not just an annoying thing that has to be used to simulate controller inputs as we see in so many other ports.

Days Gone - a cult classic. Slow to start out, many hours to like this game, many more to love. Story is fantastic with a great ending, unusual for these days. I truly hope they get the green light to make Days Gone 2. Gameplay is OK, story and world and characters make this game, which takes a while to get into. Definitely worth playing and aught be on every bucket list as a "must play".

Hmmmm....

So I ended up playing on playstation. This is objectively probably the best game yet made by human hands, and I am sure it will win many awards commensurate with the still mind-boggling scale and detail of this game.

The actual game world is significantly bigger than all of From's other titles put together; it is vast, and not some proceedurally-generated vast world, absolutely everything has been made by hand by the designer.

The one negative(or positive dep on pov) is that Elden Ring is significantly more accessible than From's other titles so far. I have not completed the game, but seen enough to know that there are no Fume Knights or Orphans of Kos in this game; it is designed to be played by people absolutely new to souls series. I think only 1 boss so far I have had to learn it's moveset so I can dodge and counter; most I have just smashed out of my way in a vitality/endurance tank build.

So this game is pretty much unmissable for any gamer in 2022.

Good Luck, Tarnished

My original review, which is before I played it and focused on hardware and compatibility issues :

I got a strong rig with nVidia 3000 series and Zen 3 AMD. In very first area, an indoor area, there are noticeable stutters and frame drops. Very noticeable. This is NOT down to hardware being up to task, it is down purely to programming. From tried writing their own graphics engine or such so I read, and have no experience doing low level work so have made a bit of a flub of it on most platforms. That is the core of this problem I believe. And that is NOT an easy problem to fix.

Which is spoiling what should be a great game.

I have decided to hold off for now and NOT play this. I will wait for From to sort things out, IF they ever sort things out.

Now I LOVE souls/bloodborne/sekiro and From are at top of my favourite developer list. I have played them all, and all worthwhile clones/wannabees like Nioh and The Surge. So it is very sad something like this spoils the game. They aught have waited another month or 2 and fixed this before release. Hired external help who know what they are doing with the low level engine stuff. The right person can work miracles I have seen it happen.

Seems game companies just release with bugs these days and wait for their player base to beta test for them. Sekiro was NOT like that. It was perfect right from the start. So I thought From was better than to do something like this. Guess not.

And after GOT Season 8 and it being obvious GRR Martin will never finish his books, his name is toxic now, seems like a big mistake bringing his touch into the game. From games have ALWAYS had great plots and they just dont need him, they could have come up with something great by themselves. Even Dark Souls 4 and just continued the dark/fire endless battle cycle plot with us revisiting Anor Londo for the 3rd time would have been fine. And don't get me started on Bloodborne 2 the game everybody wants.

Anyway, I haven't played it yet. Only got so far as character creation and very first area. Took me several tries to actually launch this game and it would not launch at all until I updated my graphics drivers.

Can confirm 100% that the complaints about this game's performance are genuine and NOT down to hardware. Big rig does not help with stutters or performance. If you play this game at it's present state then you must be cool with this. Hardcore Soulsbourne veterans like me are not going to have fun when the skipped frame/freezes interrupts their parry or roll timing. Smooth framerate, even 30fps is absolute must in these games just for that reason. Hence why I am holding off. Many games this would be less of an issue but for soulsborne it is critical to get this fixed, as precise sub-second timing is needed.

Other thing I SERIOUSLY dislike is online "rules" getting forced in my face with clear political correct woke bias, not to "offend" anyone by behaviour. Well I am seriously offended by anyone who puts the feelings of someone above another man's right to speak and be heard, on whatever topic; it is pissing on the grave of all the men who died so you could have your say, it is not free just to give away. I loathe "woke" and do not like it or a shadow of it to be in a game I hope to love one day.

Once From gets their act together I will update the review to recommended. But for now, I would suggest to hold off playing till/if things are fixed.

Just played Man of Medan, and this is much, much better, they have come a long way forward.

It is about (at least) 3x the length, there is no bs "you must finish the game first" so chapters can be immediately replayed if someone is drunk or tired and they screw up a QTE.

Story is much better, though this is subjective, the setting and characters were more interesting people.

It is a great game, well worth playing, and a good relaxing game because of the story-driven nature. Only one problem is the quick transition between just relaxing through the story and some action happening that needs fast QTE. Some warning would be good so can put hands on controller/mouse and concentrate first. I think something like this was in a patch(?) though probably after I played.

If anyone has trouble beating the heartbeat thing, if you can increase to 120fps, it is SIGNIFICANTLY easier than on the 60fps, I flubbed up my nvidia settings and played this locked to 60fps and only discovered my mistake when playing Man of Medan. Just some advice if this kind of thing is annoying or inordinately difficult.

Graphics are mostly fantastic, animations are good, no complaints any way around it is a nice game that meets 2021 visual standards.

Like all of these games, they are a 1-2 time playthrough experience. There is a "curator's mode" where one can play as a different character in the scenes giving some replayability, which I have not tried yet, as it hadn't unlocked when I played, but at max game is 2 playthroughs. Dont take it on a desert island if it is the only game you bring.

So I do recommend it, nice game, no political correct woke bs being rammed down my throat which I really appreciate( a HUGE turn-off for me and I would not have played/finished the game if it was there). Game deserves to be played if nothing else on the radar, it is just south of a "must play" but not by far. Polish is very good also, bugs very minimal, annoying things very minimal. Definitely put on wishlist and pick it up for a rainy day when on discount if not going to play today would be my advice.

This is a short game, I completed in about 12 hrs(according to in-game play time, maybe a tad more due to getting killed and re-exploring, but not 28, that is leaving gam]e on watching TV etc doing other stuff; one very good thing about this game is that it is easy to tab out and do other things, game automatically goes into a window and pauses), and that 12 hrs was with finding all the extra loot etc. However, it is full AAA content all the way, there is no filler, no grind, and apart from getting lost in the factory and finding it really frustrating, there was not much of that. Worth £50 at just under £5 an hour? Probably not. But it is a great game nonetheless. Get it when it is on sale at a reasonable price would be my advice and it is a good weekend game, you can start on Friday night and expect to be done by afternoon Sunday at latest.

As far as gameplay goes, at the start the fight with the lycans is very non-intuitive would be my only criticism, for someone who is totally new to resident evil franchise, excepting I have a vague recollection of playing part of the very first game in the 90s. It takes a while to get into the game and understand the strengths and weaknesses of the character and weapons, but that is just I guess if you are brand new to the franchise, some things are not totally obvious like taking apart items you picked up. And there I remember was 1 point when I checked an online guide, and remember saying "I am glad I did that as I would never have found that on my own.". So if you dont like retracing your steps again and again to find something hidden in plain sight on a wall that you dont easily notice, do check the guides. There are a few things not obviously placed and need a bit of hunting for. Again though, that is minutes not hours. Fight with the lycans right at the start where you need to survive long enough to be rescued by the old hag is the only part of the game I didnt get and found to be a snag, mainly because I had no clue what I was supposed to be doing.

So, all-in-all I did enjoy this game, the characters like Lady Dimetrescu were marvellous. They get it right in a lot of ways balancing the tension. Most enemies sub-bosses up cannot be beaten head on, and you need to find another approach. The end, although it ties up the main story very well, leaves open the door for Resident Evil 9, and given I did enjoy this game, I will probably buy it as well, so franchise has a new fan now.

All in all, a great game, though pricey. Wait for a sale, yet it is a must play.

If you love Kerbal, ONI and suchlike you will love this game. It is basically a sandbox unrestricted build without any constraints, so its not possible to kind of fail. Which can be a good or bad thing dep. on your personality. Maybe they will add some oppression and challenges later. Right now its just about challenging yourself and it is a beautiful, fun sandbox to do so.

Dam this game is boring. Dont know why people like it so much, the story is very meh, only I guess for people that dont have any actual experience with the Occult and their psyche wants to be filled with that, maybe. For me it is just boring, tedious, and I dont think I can finish it. Not interested.
