Editing my review after Sony Playstation has changed course and no longer requiring a PSN account link:

The game itself is fantastic and Arrowhead deserves all the praise for the game play itself. Despite many technical issues they've been open, honest and earnest in their desire to make it better and I am hopeful for when it will go going forward.

While the game itself seems fun there are some GLARING and EGREGIOUS issues that make me unable to give this anything other than a negative review:

1) You are UNABLE to start a new save file, you are LOCKED to your initial creation. Likely due to their desire to force you to pay for character customization.

2) Awful monetization of items in game that should not be so. While you can earn them in game they are either expensive or in shockingly low numbers.

3) Game crashes.

4) Horrible framerate even on a high end machine that can make playing the game exceedingly painful. I'm shocked just how bad it is at times.

Extremely solid remake, captures the spirit of the original while adding some wonderful quality of life improvements.

Larian delivers a CRPG that is approachable to the masses and helps to show them what it is about that genre that we love so much.

JRPG classic finally on Steam because Atlus realized they like money.

Simply one of the best versions of Yu-Gi-Oh to date.

Feels uncomfortable to use. Lack of a second analog stick is not made up for by the "mouse" pad. Buttons are placed just far enough away from the side of the controller to require a bit more of a stretch to reach than I'd like. Mouse function is essentially useless when not paired up with keyboard commands in any game that requires any sort of finesse; Don't expect to be able to effectively play something like Crusader Kings 2 with this.

A compelling continuation of the XCOM reboot franchise. The feeling of being an insurgency against overwhelming odds is an amazing one. One of the common complaints about the game, the timers, is highly overblown. They force a sense of purpose and urgency and help to stop the move/overwatch creep that many players used in the previous game. It forces you to think outside of the box and take a few more risks.

I absolutely and highly recommend this game.
