Amazing DLC. I think what makes it even greater is that game companies don't do DLC like this anymore. It's a robust dlc that adds to the main game while being a solid game on its own, without trying to squeeze more money out of you.

Playing you tedious, laborious and uninspired tutorial left me bored and repeatedly saying 'OMG hurry up'. After I finished the tutorial I stopped playing to write this review.
Seriously, in this day an age, if you can't incorporate a tutorial into the main game in an unobtrusive way then you're failing at game design.

Unprecedented. Words struggle to explain how much I've enjoyed my time with this game.
Not since Witcher 3 have I enjoyed an open world game that has so many layers to it and lets you decide where, and where NOT, to travel. The world is your oyster.
I can't imagine giving this game a negative review. You really are given the space to create you own play style and interact with the environment as you see fit. Only those that need to be led by the hand and wrapped in cotton wool will find anything bad with this game.
Just buy it, what are you waiting for, EA to hit you with more micro-transactions?

IMO this game SCREAMS for mod support.

The quirky and tongue in cheek nature of the game would have been so much more flushed out with some of the talented modders out there. The fact the devs didn't provided modding support just tells you they didn't fundamentally understand the game they were putting out there.

The point being that people complain mods break the atmosphere of a game, which is entirely my point. This game turns itself into a characterisation of itself with the narration and cliche story arcs. That you KNOW the devs have done this by DESIGN. So why wouldn't you allow the community to carry on in the same vein of what you've created?

I've been a gamer since before some of you were even a twinkle in your daddy's eye.

So when a game like this comes across my play time and manages to add a fresh coat of paint to a saturated gaming industry. I play. Anything that can reinvigorate the tower defense genre (or any genre) for that matter. Is something to take note of.

You can throw your money at your EA RNG loot box (gambling) mechanics, or put you money into something fresh, that has some quality behind it and gives you a solid game that even manages to take a step forward in the industry.

The girls are gorgeous, are semi-animated for scenes and animations are good when in combat. The dialogue isn't as interesting and crisp as one would like but its serviceable.

The combat itself is a mix of strategy and FPS, but it is in no way a visionary game in either of these genres.

My advice, don't come at this game expecting anything revolutionary, you'll be disappointed. It's a game that's managed to mash together various different elements and make them work.

As a gamer for many years, a game like this manages to break the mould and makes it stand out from a games industry that is saturated at this point.

Look at the price, adjust your expectations accordingly and play a game that's not like any other on the market.

As a veteran gamer I've seen many types of games in my time. While I've played some absolutely amazing games in those years, it also means I've been spoiled for choice and as such, get bored easily.

This game offers enough unique things and engaging gameplay that I played and finished it in one sitting more or less (my neighbour did knock on my door to talk briefly). It left me wanting to play more.

All this may be due to the fact its done in about an hour BUT, here I am asking for a dlc or a MWG2.

I post this positive review in the hopes the developer gives us more, because I enjoyed this game so much.

Well I'm glad I checked comments, because I've spent the last few days trying to launch XCOM2 and failing. I'm happy to realise the problem is not me but my god WTH are 2K games thinking????
I really wish they hadn't done this, in more ways than one. So not only can I not play a game I paid for, I have this sinking feeling that 2K is taking pointers from EA by introducing things no one wanted but make bean counters happy by forcing you onto their (broken) system.

With the hours I have, I've obviously gotten my monies worth.

But for those of you thinking of purchasing this DON'T.

The latest update has COMPLETELY broken the survivor experience: Animations, hit-boxes, movement etc.

I honestly can't express in words just HOW MUCH the devs have destroyed this game with the current update.

I just find myself, shaking my head, while I attempt to process the horror of what's unravelling in front of my eyes and consider I may never play this game again.
