At first Rocket Leauge appears as if it could be a refreshing iteration of 'Football'. However, looking deeper into the game it's extremely easy to see that Rocket League is simply a terrible game; the community, how the devs keep trying their hardest to remain relevant to the game's supposed audience, as well as the god-awful settings that still continue to nauseate me (despite the greatest of efforts in attempting to make the game playable).

At the core Rocket League demonstrates its own extreme take on football with a variety of cars (of which some are only unlockable via a paywall and gambling), a plethora of customisation options, and an insane amount of cosmetic items.
Despite the fact that cosmetics can easily be earned just be simply playing a match of any gamemode of your choosing, Psyonix have taken it unto themselves to replicate the ever-growing cancer of the gaming industry; crates. Earning crates is more difficult than gaining simple cosmetics as there is only a chance of gaining a crate (there are other known methods of acquiring a crate, but I will be primarily discussing the free acquisition of crates). Psyonix tries exceptionally hard to imitating the vicious goliath formerly known as Valve and hits the nail on the head with cosmetics that no one really wanted but grind away their time and money through trading and simply buying the keys required. I heavily despise the crate microtransaction system and lose respect for any company that, not only charges the player for the base game itself but includes such annoying features as this into the game.

Moving on, the game's sound design is terrible, with sounds not playing correctly and car movements not even being where they should be, for instance, a car driving behind me should not be sounding as if it were driving in front of me and so forth. The soundtrack featured within the game is utter garbage, this statement associates itself with the matter I was discussing with Psyonix trying hard to have a sense of relevancy with its userbase, given that you can turn the music off, you shouldn't have to turn the music off because of how god awful it is. Other games have managed to execute a great sense of gamesense within their own music; Rocket League falls flat on achieving this, with the music serving no purpose within the entire game other than being background noise for if you get bored. Listening to your own music is infinitely better what Rocket League provides.

This game achieves what it sets out to do; Intimidate and terminate as you'll spend a fair amount of time tactically gunning your way through a plethora of relentless killing machines blocking your path. The horror in this game is done very well despite being old. However, there are cheap jumpscares that are used HOWEVER they are very small in quantity and aren't really that spooky but that isn't the most defining feature of the horror elements; it's the atmosphere that creeps you out the most. The environment contributes a massive part to the horror as well as even with visuals that are older than a decade it can still get you shivering and squirming to the point where you might need to call it a night and continue off the next day.

The gunplay is astonishing and the mechanics employed keep the game fresh and interesting as there is a sense of progression as bigger & better weapons are found later in the game as well as scarily strong enemies that enforce strategy and resource management, (e.g. use the 1-clip rocket launcher on a group of guys or save it for the colossal mechanical beast later on). The A.I in this game is truly mesmorising as groups of soldiers can work together efficiently and the lesser units will tend to protect the heavy of the group, resulting in a somewhat challenging firefight. However, these are fairly rare and once you understand how the units operate you can always predict what they'll do and more often than not you'll actually be right.

The bullet time is a great tool and the ability to further extend your joyful takeovers with 'Reflex Boosters' is a great addition to the game, the same can be said for 'Health Boosters'. Despite the usefulness of such tools it wont make you Rambo as the enemies can easily kill you just you can easily kill them.

But there is one major issue I have with the game grouped with smaller issues and this is the fact that the difficulties aren't challenging enough even when on 'Masochist Difficulty'. Another issue I had is where weapons had disappeared once I had dropped them, at first I thought this was a simple bug and restarted but the issue persisted.

Nevertheless, F.E.A.R is a great FPS and offers an experience you wont forget with a brilliant story, some interesting characters (not all of them are that great to be fair) and top-notch gunplay.

Highly recommended.

A rather strange hack 'n' slash with an intriguing art style. The gameplay is absolutely amazing and the visuals are fantastic despite the adoption of the peculiar art style. The controls are pretty tight and the fun factor on this game is really high to the point where I had to replay missions again just because of the boss fights as to how unique and beautifully orchestrated the fights are. I would highly recommend this to anyone who adores the 'Bayonetta' series or similar types of games.

However, despite how good this game is there are some issues that I ran into but nothing major. The art style started to hurt my eyes after a while so I had to spend short amounts of time into each session and I found some parts of missions fairly boring and repetitive, (e.g. killing tens of enemies over and over and over and over) But this can be simply put down to the fact that I'm not really that used to Hack 'n' Slash and take my disliking with a pinch of salt as I'm sure that repetition is necessary for the hacking and slashing that is required.

But don't let these issues distract you from buying the game as the positives HEAVILY outweigh the negatives.

Plus you can romance some chicks and stuff, so that's pretty much the defining mechanic of 'Killer is Dead'.

New Vegas is a reminder to Bethesda fanboys that Todd Howard cannot make games and Obsidian are infinitely more capable of making better games than Tom Harden becaue Town Howl is a terrible person and provides no satisfaction to the people who desire a game actually worth playing. I hate Towel Hard-on and admire Obsidian for producing a fantastic addition to the series.

This game is a pretty damn good work of art, a unique art style as well as all of the secrets, achievments and unlockable characters, this game's gameplay strengthens the game in general and is good considering it's price. Recommended for all of those who like to try something new.

Seriously, this game is one of my all-time favourites due to how near-flawless it is.

The probability of NOT buying this game is Unreal.
