Must have a psn account to play now. Bait and switched since launch it was not required. Sony has since pulled access from regions that have no PSN, so if you had it prior, you can't even play now.

Earth Defense Force with more teamplay. Kinda feels a bit like overwatch if you play the pvevp mode towards the end.

Need to play games to unlock the story + more mission variation. (since some reviews complain about the same thing)

Don't waste your time. They've made the game a slog of a grind, where you have to basically hard carry your team in order to make enough silver lions (in-game money) to repair your vehicles so they can be used again, all in an attempt to get more people buying premium + premium vehicles. Even with premium + vehicles, you barely come out ahead. The game is pay to play, and F2P players are just the pinatas for whales to shoot.

Game of giant stompy robots shooting each other. What more is there to say?

It's comparable to other pseudo mmo shooters like Warthunder/World of Tanks, etc. but the customization is much more in depth as you can pick location for components, weapons, ammo, etc.

There are premium mech chassis, but do not feel pay to win. The best in slot choice of chassis is pretty much always a free mech, and Piranha Games does plenty of events to give away free currency as well, so it's very playable and enjoyable as a F2P player.

The mechs feel weighty, and the FX of weapons are pretty good. The maps could use some polishing though.

If you come from battletech tabletop, make sure you swap up your mechs, and run weapons of similar range bands. Specialization is more important here, instead of having a weapon for each range.

If you like big mechs destroying each other, and deep customization of your mech, you'll like MWO.

Get this on sale, price for 1 map and weapon is pretty bad. The D.L. Carbine is probably my favorite rifle on authentic. Terrible at long range unless you practice a lot due to it's insane bullet drop. But 50m which is the majority of shots are perfect. At 100m, you get challenged by wind and bullet drop a bit. Past that unless you're very practiced it's almost impossible to make first shot kills. It makes for a much different playstyle against invaders since you'll be silent basically the entire map.

I only play on Authentic, and can see this being a pay-to-win skin, since it gets much harder to spot you wearing this on any grassy maps. Granted, the invader can get the same skin, but they need to grind to max level for it. This should've been an ingame unlock for killing invaders or something instead of a paid dlc.

If you wanted more Frostpunk style gameplay, or wanted to try out a rogue-lite city builder, this is your game.
Each biome and run is different, and you have different starting blueprints, so each run will require adaptation to the environment, and whatever techtree you have available.

The game is a careful balancing act of expanding (which incurs the hostility increase penalty (temp drop in frostpunk), since each woodcutter increases hostility, but you need woodcutters to expand and find more resource nodes as you exhaust them; against overextending and burning all your resources, since each building has different efficiencies on their recipes, so it's vital you maximize efficiency as you expand or you will run out of food/happiness very quickly.

The devs are very transparent, with a roadmap up, and the start game button even shows you when their next update is slated for. It's refreshing to see good devs for a change!

Loved VT 1 + 2 and beat it all on cata. But I can't recommend Darktide. Even with a 3080 + i9 and 64gb ram, I'm seeing dips to the 40s even after doing the suggested fix in the steam guides.

I ran Cyberpunk2077 with much better frames on release than Darktide, that says a lot about the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ optimization done here.

There's not a lot of maps and they reuse a bunch of the maps for missions, so it's pretty boring seeing the same stuff over and over again. The core gameplay of hack and slash is still there, but it's an unfinished game. Crafting isn't out on release, but the MTX shop is.

I spent the day playing it, but now kinda wish I hadn't since it felt like doing the same thing over and over, which could be attributed to me now being older than when I had time to grind VT1+2, but it just feels kind of boring working for for the next level upgrades.

On the good, I have to give major props for art and visual design since it feel like the 40k game we always wanted! It's just unfortunately incomplete, buggy and feels lazy on map design.

Great tank sim without being too much sim that you can't drive and shoot a tank by yourself. GHPC take's a page from warthunder's page in showing the shot camera in the AAR, which is really really nice. It is pretty bare-bones so far, but there's more than enough content to enjoy yourself, with instant action and campaign to play with already.

Definitely recommend if you like more modern tanks than what is offered by warthunder and hate the grind, yet want to scratch that realistic tank sim itch.

If you've played Zoo Tycoon as a kid, this is the spiritual successor. Definitely much more in depth, and you learn a bunch about the animals since the zoopedia will note things such as m3 space required per animal in a herd. Other cool additions include genetics for figuring out breeding, and requiring the correct climate/biome vegetation in their habitats. Luckily, the game has a neat filter feature to help sort these out when placing objects.

It is also good on steam deck from what I've tried. The top community control works pretty good, and since the game can be paused, it's not as critical for perfect hotkey mapping like other RTS games.

Heartily recommend if you like animals a lot and learning about them, and enjoying building out a park, since a lot of time can be invested in making the park look right
