There are many bugs in this game. Most of them can be killed.

Seems like a really fun game, but the performance is pretty bad. I have around the recommended settings and cannot get it to hit 40 fps. I hope they fix this sometime soon.

Age Of Empires IV is a good game that needs a bit more time and polish to shine. Despite that, the foundation is great and it's already a lot of fun to play.

I played the 3D version on DS and PSP years ago. Here's my quick take:
+ Great quality of life features (autobattle, arrows are infinite, class swapping on the go)
+ Good sprite work
+ The music remake is great
+ A more fluid combat experience than 3D
+ A less brutal experience than 3D
- Protagonist sprites are lazily done, get a mod that adds the RK sprites!
- The font is awful, install a mod to improve it
- No bonus dungeons or bosses like in 3D

It's a 7/10 for me so far. Could be better, but is a solid entry and I personally recommend it over the 3D version, though not by much.

Early Access Review
I don't hate the game, but it's not my type of game. It would be disingenuous to give it a positive review when I didn't have any real amount of fun though.

+ Great atmosphere, like bombing runs and a sense of real war
+ Teamwork makes the game strong
- Always-on mic isn't my thing. I'm physically restricted from talking sometimes.
- Wehraboos. People who casually praise the baddies from ww2 even on the US side. That's awful..
- Way too much dying from unseen players, way too much running after a respawn.

I think as a game it can be really cool with a tight group of friends who all have a mic. But as a game to jump into for some casual good times, you're better off finding a shooter that's much more accessible. I found myself wanting to give it another try but never really launched it again after one solid afternoon of gameplay.

My video review
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgs5fI-Tx0I&lc=UgxcbwFp0PPvsdQ4QUR4AaABAg

Summary:
- Characters look like teens rather than adults
- Outfit designs are okay but creativity is limited
- The actual gameplay is really not fun
- The story isn't good at all
- The game has a lot of little bugs and glitches that aren't being fixed
- The developer has taken away keys from people who didn't like the game

I'm an early supporter
I have my name somewhere on the ingame wall of contributors and I had invested 70 hours into this (and more to record for my video). I periodically checked the game out to see if it was any good. I wanted it to be good and I backed it since the earliest of early access. If you read nothing else, please read point 3: The company's anti-consumer behavior.

The gameplay sucks
I really mean that. There's a player versus environment thing which is a bore to play. Fun to fly around for a bit, but it's a dull grind in a largely dead landscape. The graphics, the way skills handle, the way guns work. All of it's so.. awful. It's hard to find anything redeeming about the game's actual mechanics. You also need to go back to your base every hour or so to upgrade your hp, attack and defense, using a resource that accumulates over time (which is monetized if you don't want to spend ingame money). No game is perfect and I try to see the good in all things, but this game had me going: "Am I even enjoying ANY of this..?" the whole time through. It's also full of glitches and bugs, some of which have been in the game for a year now.

It's a fairly average Waifu Editor
Most of what I did was try and make cute looking ladies, and for that this game is very .. okay. Just okay. The faces always look too young (like, pre-18 honestly) so I struggle to make a girl who looks over the age of 20, the clothes are full body outfits (so you can't mix and match shoes with pants, stockings, tops, gloves, and so on), and it costs a lot of money to purchase new outfits and accessories. As an early adopter who spent ~200€ on Patreon, I thought I wouldn't have to pay outrageous amounts, but even now I can see myself needing to pay another 300€ or more for just the clothes and accessories I'm missing, and that's not counting lootbox crap that you need to gamble real life money for. Great :/

The company's anti-consumer behavior
This game is designed from the ground up to drain you of your money, using countless mechanics to reel you in so that you'll spend big. It uses every trick in the book to accomplish this. Slot machines, daily quests, a roulette, a timed energy system that is spent to add more atk/def/hp, locked lootboxes, a fake currency to obfuscate real monetary value + get around gambling laws (vbucks, gold, you know the drill), a subscription plan. It's all the same trash that's been ruining gaming for the past couple of years. Just about all of this is monetized, and they give you a choice to spend ingame currency over real money for most of this but it's an absolute grind. This is added to cosmetics that are only available with real life money. Dolling up a new character will cost you around 50-80$ depending on preference, and leveling it will cost... whatever you feel like spending. The developer has also taken away keys from people who didn't like or fully understand the game.

God it sucks.. This is the most un-fun a game could ever be.

I wish I could truthfully check the 'received product for free' box..

The best card game I ever played. Huge depth with near endless combinations and extremely varied playstyles. Mix and match endlessly on a playing field with three layers that really shake up the usual formula. I can't compare it to other card games really.
