I don't want to give any terrible critiques because this game IS excellent. But it's overshadowed by people online who masquerade as 'beginner' despite the fact their skill level will forever be beyond you.

Take some advice from me: Never try :^)

However, if you're a masochist unlike myself, then this game is perfect for you to test your limits on said masochism.

Despite what some people say, this is NOT a beginner friendly game, in fact. NO fighting game nowadays is. Don't believe the streamers and influencers who say that any fighting game IS Beginner friendly, 100% cause chances are, it isn't.

It IS a slog to even get even a single word in edge-wise in this particular game though, and you have to be PITCH-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PERFECT in order to do it like many of the other people here having the same exact idea, so good luck.

Yes, I am fine :^)

If you want the Dragon & Maddog styles with really good specs, you BETTER be ready of 100+ hours of Mr. Shakedown and respective Minigame grinding.

I have played this on PS4, completed it multiple times through and through and had to get enough hours to review this for STEAM.

While a a really great remake in some terms, I have noticed there are some flaws with this reimagining that doesn't quite live up to par to the classic. But I will focus on what makes this a rather unique and pleasant experience overall.

=The PROS of REmake2=
-The engine: Visual/Auditory-

Holy moly, does this game look and sound fantastic. The creepy shuffling of the zombies, the hisses of the lickers, the grotesque eldritch virus-induced abominations and the hulking tower that is: "The Enforcer" or as many of the fans prefer to call him: "Mr. X". While my PC isn't exactly up to snuff in terms of power, I have watched people like: "Maximilian_D00D, Vargskelethor and Uberhaxornova" to name a few with maxed out settings and it just all looks phenomenal. It even looks pretty great on consoles or medium PC settings.

The creators and individual teams working on the visual and auditory sections of this game deserve a round of applause for making a game so immersive, I actually jumped a few times when there were enemies coming out of nowhere or by the corner.
-----------

-The gameplay-

As expected for a PRO, the gameplay has an OTS (Over-The-Shoulder) camera and as such you are able to freely aim your weapon in case you need to use it, Weapons and items from the original are back and with that Survival Horror makes a return. You need to balance out your use of ammo, weapons or items with a limited inventory space and try to navigate throughout the time you play this game. Fear not, however, as there are ways to upgrade your inventory space and you can store items safely in an item box spread around the RPD (Raccoon Police Department). Happy hunting...

In the addition to gameplay, allow me to introduce you to the characters you will play:

Leon S. Kennedy - A rookie cop that despite being sent a letter to stay away, came anyways in hopes to start his career in the RPD Police Force. I remind you this is PRE-RE4 Leon, so he isn't that badass super-government agent you came to know him as, instead you actually ARE a rookie and your skills are obvious as such, so you are limited in what you do to combat the outbreak.

Claire Redfield - A university student (according to some sources) looking for her brother Chris Redfield. A biker chick that was previously warned about the dangers of Raccoon City (as apparently crime is very rampant there). Despite her brother training her for self-defense, you are still a civilian who is limited in skill to combat the outbreak.

Note: They both have different arsenals and scenarios for you to experiment with, I wonder how you'll get an S+ ranking on the hardest difficulties?
-----------

A little mixed note here...

=The Mixed Herbs=
-Gameplay (additional notes)-

While the gameplay is smooth and very responsive, I at first was very apprehensive of OTS view for this Remake. As the first REmake had the same style as the originals, but it also had options for new players should they desire it. I still have lingering doubts with this change, but I'm not too overly sore about the decision. I do fear that with these changes, Capcom is trying their hardest to steer the originals and their legacy away for newcomers, and I hope I'm wrong about that.
-----------

=The CONS of REmake2=
-The Story-

I WOULD class this as a mixed bag for me, but I simply cannot accept the story for this Remake, if Capcom took the time to actually fix a few things like: "the glaring scenario plot holes" and "the B-scenarios being EXACTLY like their A-scenarios just in different beginnings and endings" then I would have accepted it as a PRO, but sadly they didn't do that, instead it honestly looks like the only thing that was rushed, and you could tell.

While in the original game, the B-scenarios were critically different than their A-scenarios. Claire-A and Leon-B being the canon to the original story but Leon-A and Claire-B would have a radically different ending to that of the canon ending, but in the REmake, they seemed to have scrapped it entirely and made things even more confusing.
-----------

HOWEVER! That being said, I still recommend this game for what you're given and it is still a pleasant experience for the Resident Evil franchise and if you want to prefer this game over the original, I can't stop you.

But I do hope to encourage you to play the original in any way you can to compare what you do or don't like.

I still give this game an 8/10 since it is still a good remake, but it could use some work to make it more acceptable in terms of story and I could have given it a 9.

Hopefully R3make will live up better.

Eh, I kinda prefer PTDE, but this is okay.

Online works, just wish the weapon matchmaking didn't exist or was actually useful, too bad there are workarounds.
