This game's quite an enjoyable experience if you're into nonlinear exploration and fantastic atmosphere with great music.
It's fun to see crazy parts of the world, like the giant crashed spaceships all over the map, and piece together some history from the scraps. The storylines involving the NPCs are very simple but enjoyable given how uncommon they are.
Unlike other exploration games I've played, I've never felt completely lost. I could always climb up somewhere high and see a cool point of interest in the distance that I would then go explore.

People are review bombing the game because the hivemind told them the game was "woke" in some way. It's "woke" because an unpopular company (SBI) was consulted for the writing ( the most minor and inconsequential portion of the game)... but none of the writing is even subtly woke, there's not even any discernible political messaging anywhere.
If it was woke you'd think these people would have said something about it before they were told to, but they didn't lmao

I beat this game start to finish in about 6 hours, and I've seen basically everything the game has to offer. 6 hours is an abysmal amount of gameplay for a roguelike. I've dumped dozens of hours into Hades, Slay the Spire, The Binding of Isaac, Wizard of Legend, etc from just their extreme replayability. I have roughly 8 hours of playtime in Enter the Gungeon and I haven't even gotten half way to beating it once, let alone feeling like I've seen it all.
It's about the same length as the Hotline Miami games, but without any of the handcrafted level design or creative storytelling.

Most of the upgrades (drinks) feel underwhelming, some are simply useless- it doesn't feel like there is even remotely as much synergy as I wish there would be, most upgrades are boring and only directly or indirectly buff your DPS, Durability, Speed, Focus, etc.
It has some rogueLITE mechanics where you can progress in between runs, but it requires you to spend the currency you need to buy upgrades during the run- so you're essentially forced to hinder your current run or ignore long term progression.

Honestly, it's worth your time if you've already played and gotten bored of all the other Roguelikes, Hotline Miamis, Katana Zero, and all the good games like them. Otherwise, go play (or replay) those instead.

Doesn't even launch, just crashes with no error message. Apparently it's an extremely common issue with no clear consistent fix, this should have been hotfixed day one.

But the game is fixed guys we swear!!!

Absolute perfection in every single way. 10/10 story, art, gameplay, music, humor. Extremely thoughtful settings for speed runs.
It's a must buy for just about anyone. I have nothing more to say except I cannot wait for the DLC.

Early Access Review
Yeah, my original early access review was positive, it was a good time sink of a game.
That game unfortunately no longer exists, it's been killed and replaced.
It was once well worth the money, worth the 40 hours of my time that I put into it, but absolutely not anymore.
I'd have genuinely preferred if the game fell into development hell and ended up frozen in early access, like many other indie titles which were far less deserving of the fate.

Early Access Review
It is a well made game, with a fantastic looking art style, but It just doesn't do enough to differentiate itself from other battle royale games. The 2.5D (3/4 Perspective) really just feels off than in other games. Ultimately it's free, so try it, nothing to lose.

Edit: This project is completely dead. DO NOT BUY.

A very interesting tool that has a lot of potential. But should definitely be classified as early access due to the lack of content. I'd say that it is not worth even half of the current price ($13). Keep your eye on it though.

Pros: The tiles and interface look really good, and it's really easy to use. The maps you can build can look really great.

Cons: Not enough tile options, especially with biomes. The height limit is annoying. Slow Loading. Rivers are weird looking & glitchy when above sea level.
