You need a wheel for this. There is little to no playability with a controller. DO NOT buy this if you do not have a wheel.

If you have a wheel, this is an insane sim for GT3 and GT4. I'll keep it straight, graphics are fantastic, audio is fantastic, wheel settings and feedback are insane and a step up from any other sim except RFactor 2. Career mode is meh but gives you the jist of multiplayer racing but overall it's a fantastic sim.

Minus the really shaky launch, MSFS is definitely worth the 14 year wait from FSX from 2006 and a fantastic entry point to anyone who really just wants to sit back, relax and fly or even get into navigating through routes from point A to point B.

Graphics - As incredible as it is, you do have building inaccuracies, terrain inconsistency and some jaggies here and there but overall, it looks insane.

Sound - Yeah it sounds REAL good.

Immersion - Yeah you're definitely going to feel like you're actually exploring the world and seeing all sorts of locations while piloting your craft. It is just insane. VR will be added later on but the game just looks fantastic on ultrawide for maximum iMmErSiOn

Realism - Yeah I'm no pilot, but the planes feel awesome. There's realism difficulties for everyone. You can make it as arcadey as possible or as real as possible. Keep in mind, the default airplanes are NOT study level quality (Study meaning, you can actually fully train yourself with licensed aircraft). Yes you will definitely learn so much from them but keep in mind, they're default planes. Temper the expectations but go in wanting to have fun.

Weather - Wow. just wow. You can adjust weather on the fly and at least at medium settings, the atmosphere is just unbelievable. Kick it up to ultra and you'll be puking rainbows like those trailers you've seen of MSFS.

At the end of the day, many sites are giving it a 10/10 or a 9/10. Do I agree? Not necessarily. You are buying into an ecosystem for several years. This cannot be a 2 year cyclical game. It has a road of improvement to go through for the graphical consistencies and some flight modeling bugs. It has definitely come a LONNNNG way since the alpha but as soon as some autopilot and flight management bugs get squashed, it still has some improvement to be done.

For a newcomer I give flight sim a 9/10. It's definitely a must-fly so you can see if you want in on this amazing experience.
I give it an 8/10. I know Asobo will improve this product and Microsoft will support it through the years so my review will change but in the state that it's in, it could definitely need some polishing.

Do I recommend it? Yes for any flight sim vet/intermediate player. WTF are you doing just buy it and try it.
Newcomers? Get Gamepass and try it out.

UPDATE - 12/26/2023

Asobo has constantly pushed out new updates, even improving graphics and optimization for weather and ATC. It's still not perfect but holy moly its far better than launch.

For veterans or anyone new to the series or even the sport, F1 2020 is a must have.

Graphics are pretty nice (definitely not the best or imo jawdropping) but the game looks the part.

Sound design is pretty nice. Engines sound relatively accurate to their real life counterparts and you do get a great sense of atmosphere. Of course you got the iconic theme song from Brian Tyler so you can definitely feel the part. Your crew chief will definitely sound off so many times, but for newcomers, this will be necessary. Otherwise, cut his chatter down so you don't lose your cool while racing.

Physics is where this game nails it imo. It is not a full on simulation, let's be clear. It is a simcade, with much more of an emphasis on the sim side of things. However, this game hits the assists and feel for controllers and for casual players extremely well, and for those having a wheel or want a more 'sim' based experience, the driving physics and forces can definitely be changed to suit you. I have a G29 and have had no issue setting my wheel up accordingly to how I want it. I have also tried this with a controller, and obviously since I'm biased, you are definitely missing out by not having a wheel, the controller is a solid choice to go about this game.

The modes of this game is where the game also hits the nail HARD. MyTeam is a fantastic mode to play on where you are the owner/driver of a racing team and you work your way towards managing, building, and racing for your own team. You can put the difficulty at whatever level you desire, but this mode is a must play for anyone. MyCareer makes a return with grace and it's solid as ever. I haven't tried split screen but that's included as well.

Still kinda scared about going online right now...However this game is just fantastic and fun to play on.

Tl;dr - Fantastic and punishing rally sim. A controller can work to an extent, but if you want to truly succeed imo, get a wheel.

Dirt Rally is definitely one of the more immersive racing sims I've played. I bought it before I got a wheel and thought it was fun as hell, despite me being on the controller, but when I got the steering wheel, it truly transformed the feeling of the game. You definitely feel much more connected to the car you drive and (despite having only a G29 wheel) feel every single bump and bruise the road/gravel throw at you. I felt the need to constantly go through the same course again and again and again for several hours till I 'mastered' the terrain of it, only to be slapped across the face when I tried to switch my ride up.

Definitely take the game slow. As much as its a race, its also not. The more consistent driver wins. You will understand the limits of your equipment and cars and despite the tuning menu not really being too helpful, you will slowly understand how to tweak your car and the effects of it as you progress throughout the game.

The core gameplay is a fantastic mix of old school shooters (Cod2/4). Yes the game suffered server issues and bugs but so far, the devs have been very transparent about the problems and are listening to the community (check the subreddit). Would I recommend the game right now to most people? No. Give it some time and come back and check. To people who want to support this game and shape it up to be a potential juggernaut for FPS's, buy it. It is easily the most responsive shooter I've played and I can't wait to see what's in store.

No pay 2 win as of yet. Graphics are mediocre but friendly for lower spec PC's. What matters is gameplay and it's actually pretty good. It is the snappiest shooter I have played, surprisingly. This is all about aiming for the head and reacting the fastest, just like CSGO/CSS, but with elements of Call of Duty into it. It's not a bad thing at all. Assassination is a really broken game mode with the VIP running TO the attacking team. Demolition(S&D) is fun, just like other modes. TDM is just like other games.

My biggest problem with this game is the community. As with every free game, you will get people of all ages and skill levels, and you will get called a hacker for hitting absurd shots or having faster reactions than them and it's incredibly immature. Apart from that, the tutorials show nothing about educating people different game modes so we have people rushing with horrible aim in demolition, literally giving the opposing team free kills.

TL;DR worth a download. Try it out. Your results may vary with the community.

Easy to learn. Hard to master.

Rocket League is such a blast for what it offers everyone = fast, intense, futball/soccer with cars. The testosterone levels in this product is absolutely crazy. For a game that focuses on that, you gotta be able to retain the attention of the audience who plays it, and boy does it capture it. Multiplayer is a blast, when the servers are up however, but the developers are working on fixing it and are very communicative on social media.

Cross platform play for PC and PS4 is even better, however it is only limited by the fact that you have to go through matchmaking and get lucky if you get paired up with a buddy of yours on PS4. HOWEVER, the devs have stated that they are working on a solution to at least allow PC peeps to invite PS4 peeps into private matches, and hopefully down the line, maybe have parties that go into match making. Should this go through, this game will be even more praiseworthy in the sense that it allows for such cross-platform play.

My concern for this is the content. Most the maps are the same, but with free map DLC's coming out, it should be fixed. Maybe different map layouts might be a thing, for that will allow different strategies and tactics. Car customization is nice, but it is only cosmetic, and I feel like that is the case so it is an even playing field for everyone. Special abilities could make it into the game, but that runs the risk of balancing and complexifying a game that is supposed to be focused on one thing - fun.

Who knows how this will play out in the future, but for now, Rocket League is an outstanding product. Split screen multiplayer, especially on PC, is a rarity and for Rocket League to include it will only introduce hours of rage filled fun with all my buds and family. For $20, it's worth every penny to me. It is a fun game, i enjoy every bit of it. It keeps me on my toes(or the edge of the seat, realistically) and just makes me look forward to the next round. Buy it and spread the word. If you have friends on PS4, tell them to get it, since most of those guys have Playstation Plus, and it is free for July.

Word of Advice to all you guys out there who have the game or who bought it - Communicate. Figure out the keybindings for voice chatting or the quick text chat. Communicate with your team. Laugh, Scream, do whatever(well almost everything). It will make the game even more frantic and fun. I hope I'll see yall out there. If you guys see me in your games, just give me a shout out and talk! I love a good convo or communication with my teammates! Make friends on this game! Most of all, have fun.
