Funny pizza game go brrrr

For real, though, this game is a really charming and well put together platformer with so much variety and detail. It feels beautifully nostalgic despite being from this year.

The movement alone is like crack cocaine I swear. Mix in then some of the best gunplay I've ever played and it's just pure dopamine straight to the brain.

I miss being able to slide jump when I play anything else.

My best way to describe this game is that it looks really well done, but the controls keep it just barely from being a genuinely fun game.

I had fun playing through my first playthrough, but at times I felt like I was fighting the control scheme just as much as the boss in front of me. Actions don't buffer through animations an a lot of actions have animation locks on them. Also be prepared to just go all over the place. I think my map percentage was in the 90's before I was able to actually progress to the final boss.

It's good, but prepare to deal with a grievance or two.

A kinda short, but quirky and really interesting game. An initial comparison would be Undertale, but honestly it manages to do its own thing well enough to be able to stand on its own. Music is killer too.

A roguelite with an incredible amount of depth and exploration. If you're a fan of the genre in any way, it is worth picking this up. It does have a considerable learning curve, but once things like basic environment interactions and wand crafting click, the game really feels like you can do just about anything.

tl;dr: Likely fun for the hardcore group strategists, but the average person will probably have a real hard time enjoying the game. Go watch some videos on it before you pick it up.

I'm not usually one for "hardcore co-op tactical shooters" but some friends were interested so here I am. GTFO is... interesting. It drops new players in with not even a basic "here's the controls now go." You're kinda just left to fumble around and figure everything out, which is arguably fine. It takes a very hard "learn by failure" method of teaching the player how things work, so I hope you like just dying.

The actual mechanics and enemy dynamics are pretty well-done, so long as you understand them. There's heavy incentive on stealthy, coordinated play, which feels incredibly satisfying when cleanly executed. That and the enemies also look and sound just as horrifying as the game's atmosphere presents. They are, however, extremely punishing (again I hope you like dying).

After playing a few expeditions, the game ends up feeling sadly bare. As of writing this (R3), there are 7 missions, where you must play them in order to unlock them. Each mission can usually last an hour plus, assuming you beat it. The only way to change things up is switching out weapons. I'll admit my friends and I have only reached R3A3, so we haven't experienced all of the game, but I'd argue that's enough to get a decent feel for how things work in the game. Like there's a lot of heart in the design, atmosphere, and all, but the actual gameplay loop feels kinda small. I'd argue it feels a bit like Left 4 Dead's gameplay loop, though more stealth and tactics-based.

It's a well-put together game, but it caters to people who are really itching for that "top 10%" kind of game. It's hard. Extremely hard. That said, it's an underfilled niche that some people are itching for, which is why I wish I could say more "neutral" than "disliked." This is one of those few games that you really need to watch gameplay videos or streams of to see if you'll enjoy it, because that 2 hour refund window will likely be gone before you have a real opinion on it.

Also I hope you have friends or feel okay jumping into a discord call with random folk, since there's no matchmaking (and for the good of the game there never will be) and you basically need a full team. I think it's smart given how much cooperation and planning is needed in it, but it definitely can be a pain for some.

It's not a bad game, just extremely niche.

A game that looks like it's nothing but crude humor, but it's one of the darkest and overall interesting stories I've ever seen. Get LISA: The JOYFUL with it.
