I tend to spend a lot of time playing older PC games. 1) because I love older PC games, and 2) because my computer is 'teh sux0rz'. I also do a ton of Aliens vs Predator Classic 2000 multiplayer, so message me if you ever want to play!

I've never actually played Quake 2 multiplayer. Sounds like it would have been fun.

If you think you'll like it, chances are you will. It plays as advertised. A LSD muder simulator. I did not like it. There are some mechanical irritations that keep it from feeling fluid, the presentation is extremely abrasive (if intentionally so), the story is one of those "philosophize until the end of time" deals, and its attempts at audience critique are hypocrtitical at best.

Dishonored does something I thought would be impossible: it takes almost all of what made Thief and Deus Ex so good, and successfully reinvents it for a new generation. And at the same time it's very much its own thing. My expectations were quite high coming into the game, but I'll be damned if it hasn't lived up to all of them so far (8 hours in as of writing this). If Looking Glass were still around today, this is what they would be making.

A flawed gem in every sense: It is flawed, and it is a gem. The gameplay is unusual and quirky without exception, the atmosphere is chilling, the story is engrossing and well-told (if a little ham-handed when it starts tackling philosophy), and the visuals are very attractive. Just be warned: it has some performance issues, so make sure you're well over the reccommended specs, and be prepared for some disappointing graphical effects if you don't have a PhysX card. Also, it's rough around just about every possible edge, especially where gameplay is concerned.
