What a brilliant game that just uses all the fundamentals of VR to provide you a playground to just mess about. Of the many games that I have in my library, the kids love to come back to this one the most.

Tried playing this game twice through. Both times hit a game breaking glitch where the storyline would not progress in Act 3. Once at the start of Act 3, and once in Act 3, Scene XII.

Besides the above, the story is free flow marginally directed story. But the story is SO convoluted that you're just spending your mental capacity trying to connect the dots. Which are so scantly connecting that it makes it almost not worth playing.

It has unique down-home comfy acoustics and visual presentation, which gave me a novel enjoyment, and why I even attempted a second playthrough... But the negatives, sadly, do not outweight the positives.

P.S.- Note this game is not even complete as released. They are still developing the farther acts that will complete the convoluted story.

I Pirated this game. Then, I bought it. All the huff & puff about how short the game is really gave me some reservations. The general metric I use is to get at least $1 to 1 hour of gameplay, and this clearly does not come close.

But this game is worth the money, and I want to support the future ventures of the developers.

A poignant, dialog rich game in which you play the down-to-earth, educated Henry. Henry has had some really ill turns of fate (which you experience at the start of the game) and he escapes to the middle of Wilderness. Why? To put his head on, lose it altogether, or just remember which way is up- even he hasn't figured it out, and you're there to maybe help that, and experience the revelation with him.

You discover the stories of the Firewatchmen that came before, guided and connecting with the Firewatch supervisor Dililah through witty banter and the confines of being two people who might as well be on an island as they are so isolated. That isolation presents obvious risks that you could be hurt and no one would know for days, and you'll soon learn that you are not alone.

Every second of this game is enjoyably thought provoking and keeps those thoughts lingering even when you're done playing. This game is not for the people who are into hyper games, or enjoy being flighty. Its slow, steady and rich. This game is not for people who only play games to experience what you couldn't do in real life. You can do this in real life. But it will take you to a different state of mind, put a different emotional filter on your thoughts that you would hope you or your family would never have to look through. And for that, it is a truly great game.

If you're not into thought provoking games, then stop right here and go back to whatever shovel-whomp'em game you were banging your head against before. This game is an uber-rich story driven game that gets you deeply invested in the characters- without you being aware of it, and subsequently sets intense value on each decision you make. This game will make you question your views on many of the biggest topics our generation faces today, but it takes you there through the eyes of Max Caulfield in the community of Arcadia Bay, along with her childhood and lifelong friend, Chloe.

This episodic adventure was so perfectly executed. Gameplay was fluid and intuitive. Voice acting was on point. Visual asthetics were clean and always set the tone of the scene just right, not gawdy or lacking. It can touch an emotional cord- even for the emotionally delinquent gamer out there, because it's your playthrough at your speed, and your decisions define your story. It was deep; Dark; Touching. I'll play it again, but not right away. Like a quality book, it will change you, but when set it down and to read it later in life, it mean so much more, but in a different way.

I recommend not playing this in one sitting, as I think it would take away from the richness. Like if you tried to chug your drink instead of savor it. I recommend alloting a few uninterrupted hours for each episode, as trying to play this on and off would take away from it. And lastly, I recommend playing this game without distraction. Don't try to listen to your trance/club/party mix and browse reddit while you do this. It'll be a better experience for you.

Best game Ive played in over a decade.

I wish I could say I enjoyed this game. The story is rich, but that is where it ends. It has too many porting issues that glitch the game, causing you to restart the game and most likely losing the last hour of gameplay you had. Because there is no independent save mechanism. There is only auto saving at certain points in the main story. I played for an hour exploring the street and solving a larger side story, and then got stuck in the clues menu and lost everything. Poorly executed game. I cant even finish it because it's so poorly executed.

Clever puzzles. It's what anyone who enjoyed mindsweeper wished it would be. This game adds a few extra layers of complexity that complicates, and helps you solve, these puzzles. Great game to keep open in the background and chip away at puzzles between matches in other games.
