While I did refund the game. It was purely due to the engine choice and limitations of said engine. It being ran on source, while typically a great engine, has a very specific gameplay formula. That being said, the storytelling was fine (the audio balance was strange at some points. Occasionally overlapping into a cacophony of noises, but I attribute this to source), the ambiance was fantastic, but the levels were a bit sparse. Some were really good, but there was also equally bad choices made in the game design (my mind draws to the first sniper section specifically, as well as the "taser" drones.) Overall, I would recommend this game for the atmosphere and storytelling. However the gameplay is very much something that needs to be tweaked. I'm not sure if being on Unity, Unreal, Godot, etc. would have changed it. I really wanted to enjoy it more than I did, but there were just several frustrations that kept myself from progressing but might not stop others. Overall, the developer did a good job with the project, and I hope they continue their work, hopefully with a gameplay shift.

Early Access Review
Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Handgrenades (H3VR) is the premiere game that I utilize to introduce people to VR. It's a sandbox that has been lovingly crafted by Anton and the boys at Rust LTD. While it will not have multiplayer, or any other competitive aspect (aside from a leaderboard). It has been over 1/4 of my total time in VR. The care put into the handling and detail of the weapons is unlike any other VR game that features guns. For $20 you are getting access to guns and other toys that are grounded so heavily in reality that I have used this to introduce people to firearms basics, which has then translated into real world range time. As every game, it does have some issues here and there, sometimes there's tracking errors, sometimes things fall through floors. But I've never come across a truly game breaking bug, and if there is the almost weekly updates keep fixes and content fresh.
I can say without a doubt, this is my favorite VR game available on the market. I hope you give it a chance and know that this review cannot do it justice with how much fun I've had from just range time, to wandering the halls in Take and Hold.

This game is very strange to review, at it's core. The game is very fun, and has highly enjoyable gameplay loops. But the way that Behavior (BHVR) has gone about handling the additional content (and the further balancing of previous content) has been growing progressively worse. And it's not on any track to get better. While there does seem to be some signs of life, the developers seem incredibly out of touch with their community and refuse to listen to those that carry their community ambassador title of "Fog Whisperer". Their monetization scheme is also an absolute trainwreck, linking cosmetics is an absolutely horrid idea in terms of player customization. However the game is too big to fail at this point because there is hardly any other contenders, though there are some starting to emerge. I would honestly suggest looking to another game if you're seeing cooperative survival horror.

Hey did you guys hear about a new boomer shooter?
Because it's pretty much the best love letter to the early 90's era of shooters that could ever hope for.
