When you consider video games as an art form, you might conjure up a list in your head of several games that were effectively movies with interactive components (TLoU, BG3, MGS), which were all fun in their own right, but Outer Wilds struck me as an experience that would be impossible to adapt to any other art medium, and still retain it’s impact. It is a perfect example of the unique capabilities video games have to provide an experience that places the player at its centre, rather than feeling like you’re being spoonfed a story, ~you~ are the one uncovering, and advancing it. The art direction and musical score is also an absolute cherry on top. A combination of several masters of their craft, producing a wonderful experience that I’d give my left nut to play again for the first time.

I give this extremely rarely, but I rate this game 10/10.

Patch 15 made this the best Total War game in the entire series.
