if i could get a refund for this absolute waste of my time i would
a 1990s game made to 2020s standard means nothing more than me being able to speedrun to the end section of 'THE AREA' and then I can just go the heck back to the start and 100% all content so that I don't miss anything because modern gamers HATE missing content
this game is garbage and anyone who says it has good writing is a hack fraud

Great game held back by bugs and an extremely poor choice of anticheat

make a 100gb partition and install nobara linux on it to completely sidestep the kernel-level rootkit

pains me to say it but the bugs genuinely hold it back from being memorable due to how many things are outright broken, such as the anti-materiel rifle having misaligned sights or other weapons having poorly-implemented design choices like the only lock-on AT weapon being finicky or how easy it is to cancel out of healing yourself or a plethora of other issues
genuinely not worth the $40 in its current state, it's extremely fun, funny, and has the potential for actual co-op staying power but blitzes itself with bugs

I like this game. I bought it the day it came out on Xbox 360, having downloaded the demo the day prior and playing around as Filia, the demo character. I thought the aesthetic was nice, the music was great.

Lab Zero ran into trouble, I knew from checking their website every other day. They only ever gave official updates about four times before the website itself just plainly went dark. Weeks, months passed.

I followed a few tumblrs back then, caught some cool fanart, cool content. Was a good time, good little time browsing.

The Indiegogo campaign started, and I jumped on it immediately - $30 to get my name in the credits, future DLC for free, a code for the game, the soundtrack, beta access? So much stuff - why not? I'd get the steam port, the planned potential Team Fortress 2 items, so much cool stuff! Art compendium, too! Wallpapers! I still have them, somewhere. Then I paid another $6 because they had to shift tiers a bit due to unforeseen circumstances, and I was fine with that. Stuff happens.

Years pass, I dropped the game years ago. Picked it up some-ought years later, realize some combos are different. Moves are removed, can't do the same bread-and-butters I once knew - with some being re-animated into different moves entirely. That was sweet - the game was evolving for the demands it had, for BALANCE. That's good, that's healthy - I didn't like it, but I can let it pass because... it's balance, at the end of the day.
The training mode finally taught me to go high when the enemy blocks low. A lot of cool stuff.

It's a shame what Future Club did to Mike Z. It's a shame Alex Ahad doesn't work on this anymore. It's a shame that the horny game it always wanted to be is being shelved by people who never worked on it in the first place.

In the end, Alex still has his rights to Valentine, and he's still making great art. Mike Z is going to get a massive settlement, or own a bunch of people in court.

But I really don't like that something I paid for ten years ago has been taken from me - even as a person with access to so many sites where I can just get that content anyways, for free, at a whim - to remove it from the hands of those who cannot, or will not, is just in poor taste.

A true shame.

One of the best VR games you can purchase. Every single person I've had play it has asked for more.
Simple and fun. No time wasted. Perfection.

I bought this when I bought a large handful of VR games at a discount when I first got my headset
after actually playing it I don't understand why the idea of VR anime hasn't taken off more
it's very well-animated and acted and far better than I thought it'd be

fun
the microtransactions are on the same level as the phantom pains, therefore ignorable
the co-op is good
the story is short and meh, but requires a run-through of it before you can access the full co-op array
co-op is the endgame and ramps difficulty up significantly
don't fall for the polearm meme
very fun combat
