This game scratches multiple itches you didn't know you had. slowly.

I really don't want to take the time to post a decent review but I did really like this game and do recommend it to others. Later, I can write a good review but in the mean time more Dungeons 2!

Early Access Review
Updated Review! I don't think I recommend this game because it is poorly optimized/requires a decent rig. Only in the starting area and indoor zones does the game give me a decent framerate. I get 7 to 13FPS in Serbule Keep, as well as the entire zone, and the zone south. I spent perhaps and hour going through settings to see how I could fix this. Nothing worked. Nothing. Completely unacceptible. I will check this game out at a later time like release or I get a better rig.

My original review:

bolded points:
  • this game has a demo which is literally the game itself
  • there is no reason to buy before you play the demo
  • there seems to be more things to do in the game than can be done
  • items and money will be wiped before upon leaving Early Access
  • there will not be a full player wipe at launch

The Demo. Don't let the lack of hours fool you. I spent at least 10 hours in the demo. Speaking of which, this game has a demo which is literally the game itself except with limits on skill levels, trading, and some forms of player communication. Your demo start is identical to bought game's start and if you decide to buy Gorgon later your character transfers over seamlessly. Click buy, click install, wait 1.5 seconds to verify (since demo already installed it), click play. Honestly there is no reason to buy before you play the demo.

A little bit silly. At the start there are only 3 character selections and you will notice some rather juvenile stuff there. Elves are for people that want to play as filthy sexual degenerates and the Rakshasa for the people who want to play furries but of course I repeat myself. What is surprising is how serious yet unnoticeable this silliness is. I am having a hard time articulating what I mean here. You will have different dialog options for different races and they aren't corny. This experience vaguely reminded me of when I watched Game of Thrones for the first time before knowing anything about it: I thought it was some cheesy B-rated fantasy drama till being shocked how much I loved it unironically.

Not finished. As expected with an decent MMO there seems to be more things to do in the game than can be done. Having said that and also how MMOs do change I must warn you that some aspects of your characters like items and money will be wiped before release upon leaving Early Access. side tangent: If a game is being sold it is released. It being "incomplete" "Early Access", Beta, etc. is irrelevant to it being released. This game was released 2018-03-13. There is some debate if favor will also be wiped. The developers won't be wiping most skill levels or possibly anything besides what I have listed and there will not be a full player wipe at launch. 1 2 3 [wiki.projectgorgon.com]

Runs on a literal potato that is running GNU/linux. Right now, the options/settings menu is only available once already inside the game. By default the game picks the settings that maintains 60FPS for you. Quite honestly, it is rather impressive how terrible you can make it if you wanted to.

Althogh I enjoyed Baston I did not care for this game.

I gave it a good ol' college try but the story did not capture me like Baston did.

This is a neat game where you can paint, slowly unlocking more tools to create stuff and share to others. If you like playing around in MS paint, games where you level or unlock stuff as you progess, or trading art online then you might like this game.

EDIT: My main gaming rig is on SteamOS not windows. I had to switch to an older computer I hadn't used in a while to play this. The dev reached out to help me with a technical issue I had. I had acess to a beta version of this game but ended up buying release version of the game.

Idle Evolution is a polished idle game that centers around the periodic table of the elements. It's good. It's cheep. Buy it.

It is culturally a clicker but isn't quite one because there isn't really an option to speed up gameplay by wearing out your mouse. You can speed (at least) one thing up by hovering over it, but clicking does nothing.

The gameplay is rich with complexity that is slowly introduced and built upon as you play the game. This complexity is heavily based on Chemistry. You don't need a strong background in Chemestry to enjoy this game; however, you may have to reference things ingame or just a couple of different configurations to something to work. For example, you might need to place something over all the elements that make up Phosphoric Acid. This means you need to place a thingie over Hydrogen, Phosphorus, and Oxygen.

I haven't experienced any bugs, glitches, or just obvious poor design. On the contrary, everything feels about right and there are lots of obscure things included. For example, hitting M on your keyboard while ingame will display information about the currently playing background music. This is not at all necessary for a game but is a mark of well thought out games.

Just a friendly reminder that game demos actually exist in the current year. Scroll up and to the right and click "Download Demo". You can try it before you buy. You should buy it though because it is a great game.

Thanks for all the downvotes but no help. Classy. Anyhow I figured out my problem. You have to be careful what name you pick or you cannot get into any game let alone a single-player one. When I removed numbers from my name everything worked.

No mouse support in the menus or game itself; a controller is required.

As you start a game you are presented a keyboard where you must name something. The keyboard is in alphabetical order instead of QWERTY order. You cannot click this keyboard of abomination because there is no mouse support. You cannot just type letter with your actual keyboard because...reasons I presume. You must use your arrow keys to move the cursor to the correct letter and press a key.

A game designed primarily for multiplayer gameplay.

UT2004 offers multiple ways of movement including double-jumping, dodge-jumping, wall-dodging and shield-jumping. It features an extensive array of weapons, all of which come with a secondary fire. More than 100 maps are included in the game for all new and existing game types.
