Early Access Review
Is a good game for friends.

With mods, has about 30 hours of life in it, which is pretty good for the price, especially on sale. The updates keep it pretty fresh, too.

Fantastic writing. Snappy. Sad. Visceral.

What a tremendous job they've done. These devs told a beautiful story (stories!) that feel absolutely perfect from beginning to end. Very little that I would say was clumsy, cloying, or plain. Each mechanic was thoughtfully created and implemented. I only wish there was more.

My favorite book of all time.

That said, one of the more recent updates made it so the sound/music/ambiance stutters in the most irritating possible way. I want to go back and play more, but every time I walk it sounds like a Sony Walkman attempting to play a sad song while being whipped around in a blender. Looked everywhere for a solution and can't seem to find one.

EDIT: if you've got a DAC, don't set the sound quality too high. Keep it 16 bit. Shame I can't listen to this un ULTRA FIDELITY, but it sounds beautiful regardless.

Game long but good. Reward for doing things. Good things, bad things, dumb things, smart things. If you break the rules? Reward! If you learn the rules? Reward. Serotonin.

It's like, slightly less frustrating than R6:S. But only just! And it's free. So there's that too.

I can't believe how much there is to do in this game. The content goes on and on with multiple storylines to entice players to play multiple times. Honestly though, it doesn't even need it. There are different things to do for every type of player. If you don't want to farm, you can fish. Or forage. Or go dungeon crawling. Or experience a cute (and nicely drawn!) dating sim that can end in marriage and children (if you so choose). You can roleplay your character however you want. The hours listed do not accurately reflect all the play time I have accrued since release - including playstation and a totally different steam account, I have racked up a minimum of 400 hours. And now that 1.5 is out, I've spent another 30 so far. It's a great date night game or an evening (or entire weekend) with friends. Can't recommend this enough. It's all made by one guy and you would never know it! It has the love, sweat and tears you might expect from a whole studio of developers. Honestly, everyone should at least give it a try.

High replayability. Variety plus RNG plus strategy is always a good thing. Reminiscent of Binding of Isaac. A bit less fleshed out than /Binding/, but it's good for relaxing and focusing on something trivial. You don't have to think too hard about the game to have fun, but if you prefer to get perfectly distracted, this will do the job.
