Thought this game was meant to be enjoyable and not frustrating. Guess not.

The idea is nice but the way they made the gameplay is just too f*cking annoying. Game punishes you big time for going in blind against bosses and the hints to avoid damage aren't always clear. I started out on hard mode, was constantly loosing as i was adapting to gameplay but i made it to the first boss after a few tries, then i decided to go with easy mode because i thought maybe hard was a bit too much. So i try easy and i'm like, getting curb stomped by the boss. I try to time the dodge with the slashes, doesn't seem to work untill i googled how the F this boss worked, and you can avoid the slashes by going the opposite way of the glow by simply... walking. I died way too many ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ times to this boss because of this ♥♥♥♥ it's not even funny. Problem is that he does this move 4 times in a row, sometimes i avoided the damage initially but then i would get hit to death by the other slashes and i had no clue wtf was going on.

So i get the hang of the game real fast, stage 2 is again the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing with a new boss, you walk in blind, get killed and now you have to go back to stage 1 and repeat the entire ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dungeon again. No thanks. Each "world" or whatever the ♥♥♥♥ each location is considered, there are like 5 stages and probably a final boss, so i assume you have to do all stages and adapt to each boss in each stage and then do all of them without failing to move on to the next world. This concept is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass and it ruins the game. I don't mind the difficulty, but where the ♥♥♥♥ are my checkpoints? I don't want to spend my life replaying previous stages to adapt to a boss deeper in the dungeon. It's a concept of wasting time through retarded difficulty/gameplay and i do not end up enjoying the game because of that.

At this point in my review, i decided to google checkpoints for this game and saw a reddit post, someone commented about not having checkpoints between worlds, if the game runs like this where you are always sent back to start of first world regardless of how far you go in the game, then it surely isn't for me. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ YIKES.

Metal Hellsinger is a much better game than this.

Forgot to write a review on this game when i played it, so here goes...

Game is relatively short in terms of storyline, but has replayability in terms of unlocks and things to get done during/after the plot is over. Plot is "meh" and very "wtf'ish", which is what made it acceptable in the end i guess, as there are constant twists on what is going on.

For jet set radio future fans, this game will be worth playing. There are some good JSRF vibes going on and you will most likely enjoy it.

The only downside i had with this game when i played it, is that ALL CHARACTERS function in the sameway, there are no stats that set them apart. The only thing that changes in the characters, is their style and voice, all characters can use bike/rollerblades/skate as you progress through the story. If game had stats applied to characters and each character had a specific playstyle based on that, it would have been great. Since all characters are the same in the end, it beats the purpose of unlocking more characters for me, while in JSR i had to put effort into unlocking characters, not just because of looks, but also because they had their own stats in the game. I would change from character to character often, i went through all the characters in this game that i unlocked by beating the storyline, and i did not get attached to any of them in any specific situation.

Does it beat the original stuff? I don't think so, the gameplay is better no doubt, but it misses some important factors to me. Plot in JSR was also weird but felt better, music was better in JSR/F, characters were better. But hey, from an indie studio, they got it fairly good and brought back "childhood memories".

Overall i would give this game a 85/100.

Not my kind of game, bought it to support the devs and well, play on steamdeck when i am away from desktop (it works, but battery is a problem when running this game).

I will eventually finish it, valve time. Ah!

One of the best shooter games i ever played and the best part of it is the price tag, it is way undervalued for what it offers.

Bungie is more concerned about making LGBT couples on the sidelines within the game than actually making a proper storyline for the expansion...

This is the 3rd concurrent season that they go full on with "destiny couples".

1) Saint and Osiris, we even get an animated cutscene of them kissing. OKAY, sure, i can deal with it this time around. There were hints about them being a couple from ages ago.

2) Ana and Exo. Right after the Saint and Osiris moment, the end of the previous season, we get them to reveal their feelings towards each other over the radio, lo and behold, two females getting together this time around. Amazing.

3) Zavala x Caital x Nimbus (3-way). Seriously WTF is happening with this game. Game throws obvious moments between zavala and caital, Nimbus the nuisance as shown interest in caital aswell.

We literally can't have "normal couples" in this game anymore. Remember when Cayde-6 was alive and there was some connections between him and Amanda? Yeah... I get it Crow is going to replace Cayde but there is literally almost no focus on these characters outside of 1 or 2 cutscenes where they pop up for 3 seconds and then vanish back into irrelevancy. Can't wait to see what is the next couple for season 21...

Bungie also perfectly nails character deaths, they manage to always kill the wrong character.

-Cayde 6. Enough said.

-Rasputin's death previous season, i know there is a tiny chance of him returning but i have my doubts... Just like how Cayde-6 could have returned as Cayde-7 but nah.

-Nimbus vs Rohan, Rohan dies and he was the cool one that sounded professional/wise, the perfect character to throw Osiris off when it came to plans, i liked that.

-Some important characters being killed in stupid missions or in strikes or whatever the f. If a character is relevant and has some sort of popularity in the lore world, the least you could do is make a decent ending for the character. Can't wait to kill nezarec in a patrol... or a strike. Or a stupid seasonal side mission that gets removed sometime later.

Imagine someone in a school making this by himself and AAA studios saying it is hard or impossible to make a superman game right now.

Game is nice but has extremely annoying elements added to it, which is why i do not recommend the game until something is done to correct some of these, if not all.

Basically this: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1645820/discussions/0/3446961485760358078/

OR, le big wall of text copy paste:

Inventory/loot systems are TEDIOUS to the point it ruins the game.

Played for like 3-4 hours and i spent like 25% of the time trying to adjust my inventory, even after putting down tents, boxes, and other stuff to set up camp. This is BAD.

1) There is no auto looting to add directly to existing stacks, this makes looting tedious long term when you are manually adding resources on stacks inside of containers that are inside of multiple other containers.

2) Most of the junk items should be stackable, since they are low in value, it makes NO SENSE to limit them to 1 size stack.

3) Containers should have the option to rename or add a title to identify what is what.

4) Containers inside of containers is bad. Game gave me the idea i could get infinite inventory space as long as i had enough containers to put inside of other containers, creating a never ending loophole of bags inside bags and creating a massive cluster F of a problem and tons of confusion.

5) Reloading system can be annoying with some weapons. Making them an annoying choice to use longterm since you have to reload manually by using the hud, every, single, time. No thanks.

6) Stack size on items should be increased to 99 if the item is too common, there are items that have small amounts of stacks and fill up too quick like gun powder, essentially forcing me to create multiple stacks for no valid reason, yet, you can carry 300 bags perfectly fine to create infinite inventory space... Logic is non existant and this feels like it was made just to slow down the player or piss them off. Poor decision making here.

7) Not being able to quickly switch things around that are equipped, i had to either drop my gear and equip new one, or simply make space to remove it into a container, then add the new item to my hands. Again, annoying as F procedure that should not exist. If there is enough space to switch things around, then do it.

8) When you do not have access to the map and wonder around into a radiation area with a vehicle and leave it almost dead. Radiation areas should have an indicator that isn't: triggered when you enter or displayed on map.

9) Vehicles take ages to stop and reverse. They also have bad hit detection, seems like only the wheels do damage to zombies, if i hit a zombie with the hood of a ride, the zombie completely stops my vehicle as if he was a concrete wall

10) Crawling zombies hit detection is bad when using melee, it's like a 50/50 gamble for me to hit first or get hit first, i usually have to crouch and attack but i still get hit most of the time, unless i bait the zombie into attacking and step back

11) Game does not allow you to set up camp by a trader, despite being a single player game. Seriously, wtf? Why? I noticed that i had to step away quite a bit to be able to make my camp. Since i couldn't do this, i decided to build a camp on top of a van in front of the trader, yes, that is right, you can literally stack tables, tents, containers, whatever, on top of each other and make a multiple floor camp on top of a van, why would i need walls when i can make things vertical and floating midair so that nothing but me can reach it... (Hint: Do not place a sleeping bag under something that does not have enough room for you to move freely while crouching, otherwise you will get stuck)

12) Died of starvation before quitting the game, noticed that my camp was more or less not working anymore, i managed to open 1 or 2 things, but then it locked me out of everything. Not sure if it was a temporary bug or something more serious, but i wasn't caring enough to restart the game to see if it fixed the problem, i came here instead to talk about the silly things this game has and most of these things exist for what reason again?

13) Similar to 12, my radial menu bugged out during tutorial, making the tutorial unbeatable the first time it put me into it. My game literally froze and i couldn't do anything, it got stuck on the radial menu pop up and that HUD broke the game for me, this got fixed upon restarting the game.

For now, this is all, i'm probably missing a few things, game is fine but there are a lot of frustrating things that make it not an enjoyable experience. The thing i enjoyed the most was the map itself, while i did not explore much of it, i did like the vibes it gave and mix of things to explore.

tl;dr version
-This game is more of an inventory/loot management simulator than anything else as it is, you spend too much time messing around with this stuff, unless you skip loot and focus on supplies. Since the game is a looter shooter survival game, you would expect that looting and everything associated with it wouldn't be a massive chore.
-The game has potential for a small scale project, but i don't have the patience to 5 minutes every 15 minutes to reorganize my inventory, item stacks and layout to accommodate new items i found.

This game is crap early game. I join the most populated server with 60'ish players, there are a few players doing trades ingame that seem advanced already.

So me as a new player, get spawned in the same area in the map, a beach, that is meant to be mostly safe for new players, except not.

There are literally other new players roaming in the same spawn area all the time, most of which will try to spear you instantly and proceed to run after you for minutes on end without giving up chase. On top of this, there are players running around with weapons in the same noob area, using guns to kill players. And on top of all of this, i have to deal with survival elements like hunger, cold, heat like instantly otherwise you will die in like 2 days cycle from hunger, if not other players hunting you down, if you try to move away from the beach area, you will die from cold or heat within a few minutes. Hunting the early animals seems near impossible, they run like 5% faster than the player, you can't approach them using stealth as they automatically detect you and run away, oh and if you manage to kill something for food, that 1 steak you get will offer you like 25 minutes of hunger removal, yeah, considering the effort it takes to hunt something, might aswell just starve to death and respawn and loot your previous body... Mix all of this crap and you can see why this game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks for anyone starting out.

Oh and, the amount of build limitations is also retarded AF. Trying to build a shack early on seems near impossible as the game does not allow you do to that unless you go uphill and even then, it doesn't let you build most stuff like 75% the time for some stupid reason i have no clue.

Part of this problem (other players) can be fixed by playing on lower population servers, but then that removes the aspect of wild encounters in the game. I would prefer surviving against other players than having to deal with conditions and starvation instantly upon spawning, just too many bad things mixed early as you spawn, giving you little chance to progress the cluster ♥♥♥♥ of a game this is.

UPDATE: Decided to give it a try in a different timezone when the game reset progress for everyone and then this happened: https://medal.tv/games/hurtworld/clips/irb8UQpamYAjB/d13377n9c8VV?invite=cr-MSxQcFQsMTI1NzgyODMs

STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME. You literally can't do ♥♥♥♥ when people in this game do not allow you to move away from the newb area, i got killed by some dude with bow and arrow that was jumping around and shooting at me for no reason. I came back sometime later to collect my corpse and 3 players with guns started shooting me down instantly, this is the newb area, you have to mine resources nearby to craft things, you can't progress when there are people harassing you nonstop and in groups.

No wonder this game is f*cking dead and alot of people question why this happens, maybe the f*cking community is cancerous to the point of driving away new players like this, not giving them a fair chance to explore much of the game without being harassed nonstop. Died 3 times to this crap in 2 hours and half, whenever i try to progress from the starter area, i get killed instantly.

Also no wonder the devs abandoned the game as it is. Game is plagued with sh*t players that know their way through this game already and decide to harass the starter area for supplies. Great sh*t.

Main concern is short game... but i guess the price is is accurate for what it offers.

Somewhat easy to exploit minions with some of the weapons, making difficulty near non existant outside of 3 moments? 2 boss battles and 1 "side boss" battle. Played on hard, though it would have been the proper difficulty to sweat a bit, but it might have to be elderborn.

The good:
-gameplay;
-music;
-weapons;

The bad:
-too short;
-difficulty didn't feel accurate to what the label was (hard wasn't hard, more like normal, so normal might be easy mode and elderborn hard);
-boss battles can become boring since you have to exploit the same 2 loopholes in the fight;
-ending.

I rate it 7.5/10.
