Best game of its kind, shame its pay to grind to win. I recommend it because I bought the PG 02 and stomped some pubs with it. It made me feel sad for those without premium.

Bad netcode, bad physics and animations drawn by children make for a very frustrating, low-skilled affair. Two players stand infront of eachother and see the same situation in two different ways. You just don't get this in any other game.

Stay away if you are into games that require actual skill and aim, and prefer to use their brain rather than rely on drones, cameras and whatnot lame abilities.

------august 2019 update:

Pros:

+ Optimized, runs very well
+ Good graphics
+ Good visibility (unlike first two or so years after release)
+ Heavily teamfight oriented, requires good communication

Cons:

- Encourages pus.sy play
- Very bad, indistinguishable and muddied sounds
- Players that rely more on gadgets than their own skill and brain power (games like this contribute to the dumbing down of FPS games and players in general)
- Toxic community full of griefers (moreso than CSGO, even)
- Awkward (nonexistent) gunplay. Most people I spectate in this game can barely hold their mouse when aiming. Their spray goes all over the place and then one last magical shot hits the head (This occurs every 9 out of 10 kills I see). There is also no penalty when you get hit (a.k.a. aim punch from CSGO, PUBG, etc..). This game requires mediocre aim, at the very best. If you are good at aiming just look away and play another game that will reward you better for it.
- Grind for operators also makes it a bit pay to win, if you don't play that much.

Best free to play FPS on Steam currently with a high skill ceiling. Competitive and casual modes, varying games modes, large weapon selection. Optimized & running smooth, has good hit detection, and frequently updated by developers that care. It is NOT pay to win.

With that said, this game is not overdone in the slightest, it is all it needs to be. A simplistic, barebones shooter reminiscing of classic CS and CoD4. Only gripe I have is that some of the maps need to be refined a bit, but that is just a small ask.

Support this game!

The dumbest game I've played recently. I don't need to say anything more.

This game is filled with too many casual players that have no clue WTF is going on. Impossible to read, and adding also the fact that the game is RNG as ♥♥♥♥, while also being very poorly optimized...

BUT STILL! It is indeed to my liking, the most thought out BR out there, enabling for great replayability and a "fun" factor for the casuals - all the while also retaining a very high skill ceiling and competitiveness through its balancing and various mechanics, which can take some time getting used to. To me personally, I sometimes see it and tell myself that this game feels in part like sort of a homage to some of the classics we grew up with in the past, albeit with a new twist.

I also have to rejoice that in my over a thousand now hours of playing, I've met blatant cheaters only 3 or 4 times so far (and I am playing at the highest rating/top100, if ELO matchmaking is even a thing in this game, not sure if it is or not?). Now of course, many of those I've faced could still be cheating by using map/radar hacks, indicators for loot and all that jazz, but that could be near impossible to tell anyway. The main reason I switched over from CS:GO to PUBG is because CS:GO turned into a cesspool of cheating scum from non-english speaking countries, so I found PUBG very refreshing from that point of view as well.

Now If only they can correct some minor yet important issues like hit detection and also penetration (shots hitting/blocked by bars/railings etc), raise the server tickrate, introduce some much needed QoL features in-game, etc etc... I am fairly sure that improving the game is top of their to-do list and in their best interests, so I am confident it will come sooner or later! Hopefully they don't lose their playerbase until then...

You will like this game If you can put up with it being very poorly optimized, and also if you can adjust to the desync/lag that is present as of now.
You will also possibly love this game if you've spent hours playing the old Battlefield games, games like CS and Siege, and also various others which strike some resemblance at times, all played out as a Battle Royale mode in which the primary goal is to be the last one standing - survive (yes shroud, you don't get chicken dinners for hunting the frags which proved elusive to you in CS:GO)

Probabaly the only game I had genuine fun with in 2017. Gameplay-wise it was almost perfect. Me and others are looking forward eagerly to its next iteration/successor/reincarnation, Joycity!

An improvement over the previous iterations of the series. Personally love it for the throwback to a yesteryear of gaming when it was still addictive and fun (considering buying it for that reason alone, there are not many games like this nowadays). Gameplay is fast, no nonsense action. The war operation mode feels kinda cheated out of the recent Battlefield 1, as do some other features like the bayonet charge, but this is to be expected...Have to say I had a lot of fun, even with the limited maps/weapons this beta has to offer. To be fair, my expectations were really low and this beta exceeded them.

Yes the engine is copy-pasted yet again, there appear to be various crashes from time to time (I crashed 2 times when first launching it, none since then), but I am sure the game will be optimized before launch without doubt. Still able to run it without any frameskipping or freezing on 4790 & 970 GTX with 150-170FPS on low which is fine, I have no complaints on this front.

As a side note this game really needs dedicated servers (Duh! As did all previous CoD games so far...) P2P connection for a fast-paced shooter in today's market is a no-no. Honestly, this is the biggest setback this game can ever have. I hope you devs are reading these reviews!

A modern version of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territoy. One of the best recent games in a lackluster FPS scene. Also it is not P2W.
