Helldivers 2 is the best co-op shooter I've ever played in my 30 years of gaming. Perfect price point, excellent sound design, varied and fun weaponry, beautiful environments, player-friendly and reasonable monetization, good humour, cool interplanetary meta game, just a whole lot of fun all around. I had some minor issues but they just fixed most of them in today's patch, and there's plenty more on the way. What are you waiting for, Helldiver? The fate of all humanity’s children are in your hands, do not let them fall.

Oh, and it's running perfectly on Linux! 🐧

Literally unplayable, mouse input is completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥, can hardly navigate the main menu. I just launched the game and idled for two hours so I could get some emotes: :gollum: :onering:

I am a 45 year old father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my son, who is 14 now. My son got this game for Christmas in 2021 from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So i decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game, picked my character and world and started playing but I was stuck on what you were supposed to do. I asked my son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my son many happy memories.

Awesome game, runs perfectly on Linux and Steam Deck, and syncing seamlessly between them. There was a bug with the save file being saved directly in my home directory, but I'm happy to say that has been fixed. Thank you, Contingent99!

Awesome demolition racer, runs great on Linux and Steam Deck thanks to Proton (unfortunately no Linux-native build though). There's honestly nothing else like it, highly recommended if you're looking for a brutal, aggressive racing game. The online playerbase seems pretty sparse in NA but more lively in EU, thankfully the netcode seems pretty solid and it didn't feel too laggy connecting to German servers from Montreal. Install size is thankfully a moderate 32GB, many racing games are pretty heavy these days (looking at you, Dirt Rally 2.0 at 110GB). If you're playing online, just be warned that some players will ignore racing modes and just drive the course the wrong way in an armoured school bus, obliterating everyone in their path. You'll either find this annoying, or funny, or enjoy the challenge, or become one of them. :3

There are other negative reviews here based on misinformation, I'd like to clarify that there was a bug after this patch where two of the FREE female voices (not related to this DLC) didn't work online. That bug was reported and fixed in less than 24 hours, all of the free voices and DLC voices now function. They're all good quality and fun to use, giving many more options for personal expression on the battlefield. Mordhau has been my favourite game since release, and I'm happy to give some more money to this great dev team; this is still the best PvP medieval combat "First Person Sworder" available in my opinion, and they're still actively working to give us new maps, game modes and cosmetics three years after the game's release, it's an underrated game and I want to see them succeed. The only problem with the voicelines is that some players choose to abuse them, spamming insults nonstop for the whole match. Thankfully you can look at them and press K to mute them for the rest of the match, but it'd be nice to be able to apply it from the scoreboard; these players are usually sprinting around naked and difficult to target to apply the mute. When it gets really bad, I'll just lower the Voice Volume slider to 0 for a while.
