The random crashes are infuriating. The ability to rejoin a match you were disconnected from would make this game much less painful.

A Galactic Odyssey Awaits - Starfield PC Review

Rating: ★★★★★

Starfield, Bethesda's highly anticipated foray into the realm of space exploration, has finally landed on PC, and it's nothing short of a cosmic masterpiece. As a lifelong fan of Bethesda's open-world RPGs, I had high expectations for Starfield, and I can confidently say that it has exceeded them in every way.

Graphics and Immersion (★★★★★):
Starfield's graphics are nothing short of breathtaking. The vastness of space, the intricately detailed planets, and the stunning spacecraft designs all contribute to a visually immersive experience. The attention to detail in both the vastness of the cosmos and the smaller, more personal moments aboard your ship is truly remarkable. The transition between space travel and planetary exploration is seamless, making it easy to get lost in the immersive universe.

Gameplay (★★★★★):
Starfield offers a rich and deep gameplay experience that will satisfy both RPG and space exploration enthusiasts. From customizing your own spacecraft to embarking on thrilling missions, the game offers a multitude of ways to engage with its expansive universe. The space combat mechanics are engaging and provide a satisfying sense of skill progression, while the RPG elements allow you to shape your character's story and relationships with other NPCs.

Exploration and Freedom (★★★★★):
One of the highlights of Starfield is the sense of freedom it grants players. You can chart your own course through the cosmos, deciding which planets to visit, what missions to undertake, and how to approach each encounter. The sense of discovery is palpable as you explore uncharted worlds, uncovering secrets, and forging alliances with various factions along the way. The level of player agency is truly exceptional, and it's a hallmark of Bethesda's open-world design philosophy.

Story and Quests (★★★★☆):
While Starfield's narrative is engaging and filled with intriguing lore, it occasionally falls short of the exceptionally high standards set by Bethesda's previous titles. The main storyline is well-paced, but some side quests lack the depth and emotional resonance found in games like Skyrim and Fallout. However, the sheer scope and variety of quests more than make up for this minor shortcoming.

Performance (★★★★☆):
On PC, Starfield runs impressively well, considering the complexity of its universe. However, some players have reported occasional performance hiccups and optimization issues, which can be a minor annoyance. Bethesda has been quick to release patches and updates, so it's likely that these issues will improve over time.

In conclusion, Starfield is an ambitious and enthralling space epic that successfully combines the best elements of Bethesda's RPG expertise with the allure of space exploration. Despite a few minor performance hiccups and quest-related shortcomings, Starfield delivers a stunning and immersive experience that will captivate fans of both the developer and the sci-fi genre. It's a must-play for anyone who has ever dreamt of embarking on their own galactic odyssey. Bethesda has truly raised the bar for open-world RPGs in the realm of the stars.

One of my favorite War FPS games. Community servers are still popular especially on weekends. Even with a small player-base; if you aren't careful this game is a death simulator. Bummer also that the developer Antimatter Games went under. I was looking forward to the development '83 and now nobody knows whats happening with it.

It took more time to download and install this demo than it did to complete it

game runs okay, controls are a stupid combo of finger gymnastics and carpal tunnel inducing mashing. content is weak, the city seems dead and uninteresting and the price tag of $59.99 is too much.

Not Fallout 3, not Grand Theft Auto 5 and not Watchdogs- but a little bit of all three. Storyline is vastly deep...I found myself skipping many dialog scenes just to get to the action. Weapon combat is mediocre mostly due to poor AI and police will shoot & kill you for just being in their personal space. Hacking/stealth playthough is uninspiring, you will want some skills in guns/melee weapons to keep you from reloading your last save over and over. City doesn't seem as alive as it looks, but is quite large and keeps you busy. Save system is good. Stolen vehicles cannot be saved to your garage and the price of vehicles vs the time to make the money to purchase those vehicles is insane. Actual driving mechanics aren't terrible, but better than I expected. If my framerate was better and didn't include scenery loadin microstutters I think the overall driving experience would get better. I've experienced a handful of bugs, including falling through the map and being stuck in scanning mode. None of them completely gamebreaking if you quicksave your game often. Overall I still recommend the game even if it didn't quite live up to my expectations after so much delay.

There is NO better $6.99 Early Access game out there that offers an experience like this one. The developers listen to complaints and are always improving upon this game. I say buy it before they start charging what it's really worth.

Best soft body physics game out there, bar none. If you like cars, crashing cars, trucks, crashing trucks...and just about anything you can drive, you can crash. I bought this pre early access from their website and look forward to every update they bring. Did I mention the mods and community are also awesome? If you're on the fence about it, get it. You won't be let down.
