Game was everything that I thought it would be. I didn't buy into ridiculous amounts of community hype and was delivered the experience that I expected. It's not quite on par with The Witcher 3, but stands a worthy entry for a new IP and design from this developer.

Core i5 8600K - CPU bound.
GTX 1070
16 GB RAM
1440p Resolution
30-36 FPS on Medium, which looks really good on this game.

Weapon and armor infusion caps ensuring that only streamers, no lifers, those who only play this game are properly rewarded and saying ♥♥♥♥ you to anyone who can't play more than 20 hours a week. Grinding is not a mechanic,

Edit SotW Finale: The live event for this season sucked. Bungie didn't announce it until the day before and excluded swathes of the community around the world. When the even started it took a fulll 30 minutes before any visible actions were seen, the another 60 for completion. I hope they never do this again. Total failure.

Edit 2 SoA Finale: Yet again ole Bungo finds themselves unable to do a live event. This trash tier content needs to stop. Just make a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mission that goes live 3 days before the reset so everyone can get a chance at it. FFS.

Edit 3: Game is fun again.

Edit 4: Y'all just need to remove jumping from the game for Hunters and Titans. It's not in their "Class Identity" to be in the air. Warlocks should be the "floor is lava" class. They aren't insta killed if they touch grass.

Edit 5: WQ was pretty good

Edit 6: Lightfall Day 2: story is the worst in franchise history. It's comically bad and poorly written. The game play and legendary campaign are fun though.

Edit 7: Gameplay wise the game is fun. It scratches that looter itch I've been chasing since Diablo 2. Unfortunately the game breaks with every patch these days due to technical debt likely left-over from having been a 7th/8th cross-gen launch on consoles. Yes I know D2 is "a new(er) engine" but if you think it's fully built from the ground up you're kidding yourself. They likely made necessary change and updates only to get the game functional on PC and for the PBR. The rest is inherited from D1 Vanilla which is coming up on 10 years old. Even older if consider that Bungie was working on Destiny towards the end of Halo ODST development.

Edit 8: After the State of the Game and Bungo's "Games are hard" statements, I no longer have confidence in the interns they left in charge of this game. Most, if not all of the truly Senior staff that was leading Destiny was pulled off to either Matter or Marathon. This is the real reason the game is in the completely ♥♥♥♥ place it is. Look I work in tech, I understand folks have to start somewhere and that usually means they ♥♥♥♥ up a lot. I get it. But to pull nearly the entirety of the senior level leads over to other games and just leave relatively inexperienced folks in charge is a huge ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ misstep. I won't be buying The Final Shape and neither should you. Don't buy any Eververse ♥♥♥♥, don't even play the game. Just vote with your wallet and time.

Truly the end of an Era.

I have been playing Metal Gear since 1998, when Metal Gear Solid released for the orginal Playstation.
Of my 27 years I have been playing Metal Gear for 17 of them.
In fact, the series is has existed my entire life.
I think that this qualifies Kojima-sama as pillar of video game development.

And this game proves that.
Metal Gear Solide V: The Phantom Pain brings together numerous elements and tropes of the gaming world today and applies Kojima-sama's unique perspective.

The openess of the game is incredible. While there have been other open world games, it was not untill the last half decade that I have trule felt I can impact the game world.
Rock Star's Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto V, CD Projekt Red's Witcher 3, and now Kojima-sama's Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom pain have finally realized the promise of the open world game.

Honestly I did not think Kojima-sama could top himself after Metal Gear Solid 4. I was wrong.

I cried when I played through the Prologue of this game. That's how beautiful and true the game is.

I higly reccomend this game to any who play.
