This game is amazing, brilliant gun play, 90's style tongue in cheek comedy and brilliant co-op moments occur every drop. I've not had this much fun with a game in a very long time.

SSS Tier RPG.

Really enjoying this title, I bought on deep sale and it's been a lot of fun so far and I'm just under 30 hrs in.

The combat has a lot of depth and playing solo can be really challenging at times as you progress (not played co-op so cannot comment on that, but imagine it's more fun not less).

The game looks good, it doesn't carry the same dark Gothic art style as the Arkham series, but this is not the same universe (this title is based on the more modern and realism based Rebirth Batman from DC comics), the game looks great and the picture mode is fired up regularly.

I like the setup of the game play loop where each time you venture out into Gotham it's classed as a different day, each with it's own crime stats and breakdown. It's a departure from the insane one night adventure epics we saw with the Bat Man games.

City traversal is really fun, mixing up the grappling hook with the various traversal modes (1 per character) and the bike is fun. It feels more realism based. launching off a bike, to grapple and then glide into battle feels really cool.

Character customisation and builds are the stand out in this game, I'm hooked on trying to get new blueprints and complete challenges to unlock colour palettes, and everything looks good as well which is refreshing. the devs should have really leaned into this aspect in my opinion as with a little more freedom this aspect could've been exceptional if instead of just altering parts of an overall suit they allowed parts to be collected like an old school RPG and put together to make a complete outfit.

In summary - Do not go into this looking for an Arkham Asylum game and you'll be pleasantly surprised. There's repetition in the game play loop, but if you're a fan of stealth and action combat game play it's not a problem (nowhere near the scale of more recent assassins creed games for example). The story is good with some interesting set pieces and boss fights and overall interesting and it drives you forward, it doesn't feel irrelevant as can be the case in some co-op titles. The character development and customisation is my favourite part, as a big Bat Man fan I was hooked and want to unlock all the outfits (which can only be done by playing the game, which is a plus). The combat is easy to access and a difficult to master, I actually prefer this type of combat to the Arkham games as it seems to flow better and is more akin to Spider-Man games than the older Arkham series (which I know was inspired by the Arkham innovations, but I digress) and when you get a some later weapons and skills you can take on rooms of enemies and clear them all with flair and it feels awesome.

EDIT - Also need to add that I'm aware this ran like crap when it came out but I can say that playing this on a Ryzen 5 3600 & AMD RX 6700 is runs creamy, I've had zero crashes and while the odd cape has flopped about in a cut scene there's also been zero bugs. I presume the devs have patched out a lot of the launch issues at this point.

343 should not be allowed to look after this IP any longer if they cannot fix a fundamental fault with the core game in the best part of 2 years.

This has some real potential, at times the game play and overall weight of play could feel really satisfying and some of the players do look good after recent updates, but this game is a bare bones cash grab if I ever saw one.

You choose your favourite team (but can't actually play as the real thing unless you buy the whole squad with in game money).

Ok nevermind lets just have fun and play with a friend - You can't! there is no way to play a game with friend 1v1 without lots of convoluted messing about in the matchmaking system, dropping in and out of games until you match with your friend.

had the chance to sneak up on FIFA here but would argue they haven't even sneaked up on older versions of their own PES games.

AVOID for now unless there are many more drastic improvements.

Who knew that huge sprawling stories containing monsters, dragons, knights and a really old powerful ring would be so popular!?

Game is amazing!!

Still as good as back in the 90's.

The quality of life additions in the remaster are very welcome and the new character models look really good in my opinion. If you want to improve your experience even more I'd recommend installing at the very least the HQ battle backgrounds mod as the one area the game is a let down is the backgrounds in and out of battle they look very fuzzy.

Get the mods, get the remaster on sale if you are a fan and enjoy.

This is how you remaster a game. Considering this came out on PS2 it's incredible how well this holds up with a few quality of life tweaks and a graphics upgrade. a must for any Final Fantasy fan with a PC and well worth it for any JRPG fans looking for a solid adventure.

One of the best games ever made, if you like high intensity combat, cool gear progression and fun then this is for you.
