A typical stealth game, it plays exactly like Splinter Cell, minus the gadgets and the smooth gameplay.

The game mechanics are very frustrating. The AI is annoying and the level design rarely offers an alternative way to tackle a situation. So you end up having to wait forever for guards to look elsewhere or to turn around.

Playing aggressively (with firearms) is rarely an option since you're carrying less ammunition rounds than there are guards in the level, and they all carry bigger guns than you do, so the chances of success for a firearm-only playthrough are slim.

The lighting in this game looks absolutely gorgeous, very similar to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s.

There's a scoring system and secret achievements to unlock in-game, but no steam achievements unfortunately.

You have to rename the "replay.exe" file to "Launcher.exe" if you want the steam overlay to work.

If you're having a hard time to progress through the game, edit the config file "aio/difficulty.cfg" to grant a speed & damage boost!

A disappointing turn-based RPG.

I heard many great things about Avernum/Geneforge, two game series from the same developer, hence I had high expectations about Avadon. Unfortunately, this game features a really poor writing style, lame character design, terrible graphics, and no music whatsoever.

The game world is quite huge. Sadly, this just mean very, very long empty corridors and roads. The RPG elements feature a nice, if very simplified, skill tree, equipment and looting system. You can also recruit a few people in your party which you have full control over them. While the combat is turn-based, the rest of the game plays in real-time.

On the bright side, you can solve many encounters through dialogues, instead of fighting them. The game also has a well designed user interface and plenty of tool tips for about everything. Plus, for players who love hoarding stuff, you get to loot absolutely everything in the game, from trash lying on the floor, to bones and flesh from your fallen victims. And if your inventory is full, you can always unload all your trash to your other party members.

Despite all my love for turn-based RPG's, I certainly can't recommend this game to anybody.

A disappointing but still fun First-Person Shooter.

What made Sin unique was its open world, highly interactive environment and the so-called Action Based Outcomes. For example, if you shoot down a billboard into the roof of a building below, it opens up a new entrance for the next level, otherwise, you'll have to shoot your way through the main entrance. Another example would be to turn a valve in one level, which floods an entire area in the next level, drowning a whole bunch of enemies.

Unfortunately, Sin Episodes: Emergence is a poor attempt to be Half-Life 2: Episode 3, you follow a scripted linear path, kicking ass with your female sidekick. It's fun, but not very inspired.

Additionally to the solo campaign, there is a survival mode, which is totally pointless since there's no leaderboards and you can't play in coop.

The SDK includes the level editor Hammer, but there's no option to create a mod (and therefore no source code is available).

Note that there won't ever be another Sin or Sin Episode. Also when you buy Sin Episodes: Emergence, you get the game Sin as well (except for buyers in Germany!). The steam version of Sin is censored (this include mainly nudity and drug references).

A violent FPS based on the famous comic book series from 2000 AD.

The production value is somewhat poor. The graphics look very dated, the animations are jerky, the AI is stupid, the vampire and undead enemies are poorly coded and animated, the level design sometimes feels very obtuse, and there's a plethora of weird bugs.

However, if you're a fan of the comic book, there's certainly fun to be had here. Rebellion nailed perfectly Judge Dredd's unique sense of humour and the rendition of Mega-City One is spot on. It's violent, gore, stupid, hilarious at times, and pure mindless fun.

The headshots are awesome (instant bloody decapitation!). You can immolate people. Kill by ricochet. Fire homing bullets. And even reliably disarm perps by shooting their weapons off their hands, allowing you to arrest them, instead of killing them. You can also kill your allies and civilians. It's funny that you can abuse of your authority to arrest innocent civilians, while listening to their complaints make it all the more hilarious.

Aside from the solo/coop campaign, there's a survival mode and many LAN multiplayer modes (you can replace humans with bots too). The multiplayer games, being fast and violent, can be very fun to play with a group of friends.

A good console game, similar to Pikmin and Little King's Story.

The game benefits from a very devilish kind of humour, a pretty soundtrack and an amazing art direction. The landscapes look fantastic and the characters are very well designed.

You get to play as the evil Sauron (pre-eye transformation), and control a whole bunch of cutesy gremlins to do your evil bidding. It's always a joy to interact with your minions, ordering them to pillage, kill, steal, or to even (accidentally) commit suicide!

Unfortunately, the controls are a little unresponsive at times, the levels are very linear with too many backtracks, and the gameplay gets a little bit monotonous after a while. There's a little bit of grinding involved as well, if you want to craft better stuff (and you probably should). The online multiplayer mode is pretty much dead.

Despite its many flaws, it's still a fun game. Drowning your first minion will probably become your most memorable and funniest moment in your whole gaming history.

Shadowgrounds is a fun run-and-shoot top-down shooter to play with a friend (in local co-op only). The game is a quite unpolished and buggy, but the dated graphics are still somewhat nice, especially the lighting and particle effects. The levels are very linear, but still allow for different playstyle, depending on how you upgraded your weapons. The game also features fun bosses and intense scripted action sequences. The music is alright, but the voice overs are truly terrible.

This stand-alone expansion adds a fun survival mode, an improved RPG skill tree, more varied weapons, and better special effects & physics. Like the first game, it's a lot more fun to play in local co-op (online co-op NOT being supported).

There's a level editor included, but it seems like nobody ever released any maps. Likewise, nobody seems to have released any mods, despite the game being open source.

A fun 1.5 hour long old-school adventure game similar to Machinarium and Samorost.

In most point & click adventure games, you're often tasked to blindly click every bit of pixel on the screen until something happens, then to make some absurd combination of objects, like making a fishing pole out of a rubber duck, but not in Hamlet or the Last Game without MMORPG Features, Shaders and Product Placement!

The puzzles in HotLGwoMMORPGFSaPP are logical and require a good sense of observation. And since they're all so different from each other, it doesn't get repetitive.

The artistic style and the animations are top notch. However, the ambient sound and music samples are too short and therefore can become rapidly annoying.

It is a fun game, despite being excruciatingly short and lacking any replayability value.

Spacechem is a fun and unique puzzle game. But I believe it can appeal only to those who love chemistry or complex problem solving. The fascinating thing about this game is that there's usually not one, but hundreds or thousands of different solutions to each puzzle. Surprisingly, the game has an epic soundtrack and contains lots of funny jokes.

There's not much to say about Bastion...

Amazing art direction, slick presentation, superb narration, and the soundtrack blends in perfectly with the gameplay. The game mechanics are excellent as well. Every weapons have a unique feeling to them and are fun to use, from light and heavy melee weapons, to bows and guns. Furthermore, weapons' abilities can be customized through a kind of crafting system which allows for different kind of play style with the same weapon. You can also increase the difficulty at any time by selecting up to 10 idols which grant unique boosts to your enemies, but earn you more experience points in return.

Overall, the game's quite short and not very challenging, but that is only because they chose quality over quantity. A highly recommended game and experience.
