Early Access Review
This is 'the' Aliens game we always wanted.

Impeccable, dread inducing atmosphere with a mysterious environmentally told story. Tension struck exploration of shadowy maze-like research complexes, with an interesting low-fi computer terminal system for gathering intelligence. The creepy creature design, while not perfect in terms of animation, are a satisfying enemy providing surprises, and terror in spades. When it kicks off, either level design or stealth failure caused, the intensely frantic combat is engaging and punchy. Tactical resource management, teamwork, communication, combat awareness, and a good aim are all most certainly needed to get you through to the end.

I personally can’t wait to see how it develops from here. Excellent stuff thus far!

Everything you could have wanted for a return to Street of Rage. The music, artwork, and gameplay are just spot on. Hats off, they really did a fantastic job. Arcade couch co-op at it's finest!

Excellent stuff, reminded me of Magnetic Rose, and of a Philip K. ♥♥♥♥ short story - A Maze of Death. Along with the sci-fi setting, is has surprisingly strong horror elements. Highly focused both in terms of the story, and gameplay; movement is great and the pistol is EPICLY satisfying. Wonderful level design with an incredible sense of scale, and the central gameplay mechanic with the AI is novel and engaging. Highly recommended.

Simple, but effective design both in gameplay, and visuals. A wonderful sense of atmosphere established by a beautiful live soundtrack, and environmental storytelling. Short, very sweet, and worth every minute.

Fantastic improvement on the original Trine, co-op puzzle platforming at it's physics trolling best.

Replayed this in 2016 after being reminded by it in the ‘EDGE special edition – the 100 greatest video games’, not having touched it since release.

Incredibly it stands up enormously today, both in terms of gameplay, graphics, and story. The integration with the game world is complete, focusing on survival, exploration, and tightly choreographed bouts of intense combat. In particular, the sound and monster design is out of this world, making it just as creepy and unsettling as it was back in 2008.
While some critics prefer the sequel, I would liken it to the comparison of the film Alien, and Aliens; essentially suspense vs. action.

Of the material that inspired it, Alien I strongly prefer, and if like me, you enjoy being sucked into a realistic world of terror in space, this is the one for you.

I was enraptured by this world and it's peoples struggle from start to finish, also it has bee bombs. Enough said?

Very disappointed with this game. Tomb Raider games used to be about exploration and puzzles; now the game expects you to have fun killing waves of men and QTE's. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful to look at and it plays well as a shooter, but I didn't come here for the shooting.

Eject, I'm out.

I've been putting off playing this for years now and finally gave it a go. Ultimately, I feel it's inferior to it's predecessor in that the atmosphere is severally lacking and combat is now completely at the focus. I was expecting survival horror and instead found a gory shooter. Perhaps if it had veered further into the area of B-movie it would have worked for me. As it stands though, I'd recommend the original for survival horror fans and this one to shooters.

I've been playing this on and off for years now (since 2008!) and finally knuckled down to finish it this year. The pacing as with many of Zelda\Metrodvania games, can be a bit iffy in places but once more 'forms' are introduced it becomes much more interesting. With a unique art style and atmosphere the game delivers highly in presentation. The bosses are spectacular and genuinely creepy as well as challenging. Highly recommend to fans of the genre and exploration fans.
