I honestly love this game.

First things first, the graphics: Yes, they're not 2019 AAA game standards, though they really don't need to be.
It looks good, plain and simple. It certainly doesn't look bad. So I don't know what people complain about sometimes.

The sound is fantastic.

Gameplay is great, at first it feels clunky if you're used to other games, though in actuality once you're used to the game it's very good.

It is the kind of game where you need to pay attention and learn the game a little bit. The more team work the better though not as crazy as Squad where you will fail HARD if you do not stick to your Squad every step you take.

The Campaign game mode is brilliant. You can spend 4 hours on once campaign from start to finish. I like that rounds last a while so you have all the time in the world to try out different things, get used to the team dynamic.

A good commander and radio guy are essential. The commander needs to direct the team, remind the leaders to give him markers, maybe tell them where he wants markers, call in support, communicate with the team about fire orders coming in but also the commander needs to be at the front rather than just sitting in the back and purely stare on his map. When defending, he needs to sit on one of the points, when attacking, (if North Vietnamese) go to a point and call ambush and have everyone spawn on him etc.

Too many commanders are lazy.

Sorry for the rant but again, this game is great! Though if you know what makes a good commander and you see time and time again just lazy commanders it gets annoying as hell.

Sometimes though, if you lose, your team isn't bad, but the other team is just better.

There are plenty of full 64 player servers daily.

For each faction and role you can customise your character quite a lot! Even buy additional DLC's and get even more stuff.

The Green Army Men game mode is awesome but needs more people playing. This mode is what I always wanted since playing Army Men back in the 90's on my PS1.

The only reason I do not give it a thumbs down is because of the current price of just about £2.

I hardly played 2 hours but did everything you can do in this game and feels like I played for ages.

There are only so many times you can play the levels.

It's a good game but don't expect to get super long sessions or anything out of it.

There is a review with a guy who played like 620 hours. I can honestly say, I do not know what he's been doing so many hours in this game haha.

I tried my best to like it, I just can't.

Too buggy. Clunky gameplay. Not enough content and the support and road map seemed abandoned last time I played.

As of now I do not recommend this game.

The developers did an amazing job with the first Insurgency, and also did a fantastic job with the so very underrated and overlooked Day of Infamy.

With this, however, not so much as of now.

At present it feels very unfinished.

The performance is here the worst offender and needs a ton of optimization.

The character models look very bad. They look like kids playing dress up. If you equip a moustache, it looks like a boy wearing a fake moustache.
If you add stubbles, it looks like someone used MS Paint to draw those on there with the 'straight line' tool.

The gameplay feels clucky and tons of clipping to the extend that if you were to spectate someone you can morph into their body and see a little box in the centre from the 3D rendering program the team must be using to make the models.

All in all it adds up to a very unfinished experience.
It doesn't come close to the charm its predecessor left behind, which was a very solid tactical shooter.

This is more like a very bad Battlefield clone without planes and helicopters.

The maps are also very badly put together and feel even more artificial than in Insurgency, which wasn't bad back then because it made up for it with the right atmosphere.

If I didn't clock too many hours already and had it for a long span, I would happily refund it and maybe have a look at it in a year.
However, I am not sure if the devs even see the need to get this game updated with the aspects mentioned above.

It's just as much fun as back in the day. It still has active servers and the bots can and will challenge you if you let them.

The game runs brilliant on Windows 10.

Timeless masterpiece

I adore the original Unreal Tournament from 1999 (UT99)

I was never a fan of the sequels and really tried to like them but they couldn't do the original any justice in any department.

This one, I can honestly say, I wish I didn't give it a pass when it came out.

It's brilliant. If you love UT99, then you will like this one as well, very much.
You can very easily find classic map pack for this game - UT99 classic maps remake for this game.

For anyone who didn't play any previous UT

I recommend this game regardless, it looks amazing! I can honestly not believe how old it is.

The gameplay is flawless and the bots can be as easy or challenging as you want. The maps are fantastic for every game mode. Balanced like no other current AAA FPS, and runs as smooth as butter.

This game is brilliant!

This game brings WWII shooters back to the basics while maintaining a challenge.

You should buy this if:

You don't need unnecessary hand-holding ie you have a brain (but there is nothing you miss out on though
the game tells you when you should withdraw and what to do, but you won't get a hit indicator and an indicator where you were hit from)

If you can and want to think further than just running around aimlessly and shooting anything you see

If you can adapt to changes in dynamic ie, when to rush and when to hold a position and flank etc.

If you can appreciate your team mates. Spread out, cover each other, go back and re-group (letting dead team mates back into the game), drop ammo etc.

If you are sick of grinding/or paying to get everything you need. Everything is available to you from the start.
You choose a class and choose from the weapons and kit available to this class. No grind, no payment.

On the same note: If you hate loot boxes.

Reasons you should not play this game:

The opposite of all of the above.

You love CoD and think anything beyond World At War is mega.

I must say, I do enjoy it.

It's a very laid back zombie game that you can enjoy.

It's a console port, and you can feel it but it's a good one. It's easy to jump on the bandwagon of hate
but I'm sick and tired of people moaning about the same things that, in the end, don't have to spoil your enjoyment.

I have read a lot about game breaking bugs, but I have yet to find one. Maybe I was lucky thus far.

Just jump into the action and enjoy this game for what it is. A light cost of post-apocalyptic zombie bashing, in LONDON.

I love the fact that it's set in London. Kinda gives you a 28 days later-alternate story feeling.

If you die, you wake up as another survivor and can find your former alter-ego roaming the streets as a zombie. Kill yourse... I mean, that zombie and get your previous gear back. Awesome!

The story isn't very good nor original, the prepper guy, let's call him Herbert, makes me laugh for the wrong reasons.
"My friends call me Prepper, because I'm always prepared." I don't know whether it was supposed to be absurdly funny or if they were serious, nontheless, it made me laugh!

If you're still not sure whether to get this game or not, check out the first episode of this Let's Play series
