ive played a lot of survival pvp games and this one suits me best currently. still early in its development, i am hoping they dont mess it up like miscreated did.

400+ hrs at the time of this review and while i do have some issues, i can say i would recommend this version of tropico to fans of the francise and newbies alike.

a city builder with the prospect of citizen revolt, its like sim city with unruly sims.

i also suggest finding tropico pirates cove full soundtrack on youtube to play in the background as those tunes are highly superior in my opinion.

all that said, if you dont think you will like it then you are right, you wont. this game is not universally liked.

no really, i have almost 1k hours at the time i write this review and i can say i find it to be my "go to" game when i watch tv for extended periods of time. its like super complicated chess and one of the last viable turn based games on the market.

ive not tried out the space one nor the next installment in the series as of yet because im still ok with this version. been playing Civ for a really long time cause i am old af.

anyways, just wanted to add my personal review. enjoy this game, i think everyone should try it.

As someone who hated 3 and vegas, i waited on this one. surprisingly i find the game superior to the afore mentioned titles and am currently enjoying it very much.

i just have the base game, i am not yet inclined to invest in DLC.
just saying, if you thought 3 and vegas was kind of wonkey, this one rectifies that in full.

as someone who got into fallout with the walmart fallout 1 and 2 double pack (yes i am old) for ten bucks, i would say that while this title retains a lot of fallout feel, its not perfect in that aspect.

im confused and maybe doing something wrong but it seems like as soon as ive got my guy set up, thats it. nothing left to do. i hope i discover what im doing wrong soon or they add some new stuff soon.

250 hrs and counting. i like this game a lot and as someone who plays a lot of multiplayer survival, i find it is the best solo survival experience so far. i like how i can play in offline mode if need be.

fun base building, fairly challenging AI enemies, lots of room to explore and updates on a regular basis so far.

i would suggest this to anyone who is into survival games.

At first this seems like a good way to waste time, possibly while watching tv or something. You go through the initial moves of placing dedicated production areas and putting people to work at them and it seems like something is happening.

You do the objectives (collect 50 food resource for example) and get boxes of "cards" which flip and reward you with random stuff. Sometimes you get items for your people like costumes and/or weapons but most of the time you get a pinch of resource (water, power, food) or money used to buy more space for your vault making it bigger.

much of the time you get "junk" which is sold for chump change.

In the end you find yourself playing what devolves into a "waiting simulator". You have to collect a certain number of resources to get a minor reward which then opens up another task to do the same damn thing, but with a lot of waiting in between.

you can send people out of the vault but their "adventures" merely consist of single descriptive sentences and random minor rewards over an extended period of time, nothing more.

i restarted the game many times and found that the random drops of cards are not very helpful. obtaining weapons/costumes seems to be second only to getting a new character with comparatively enhanced statistics. most you get game currency (caps) or a smidgen of resource (water/power/food).

in the end i feel like the developers of this app purposely made the "dead time" way to long in an attempt to pull in more in game real money transactions. those transactions should be avoided as they are one time only and gone once applied. i have tried to save the game before flipping reward cards to no avail, the rewards remained once the card was consumed.
finally, the game is an obvious port of a very generic sim title (sim tower i believe) with downgrades to gameplay in exchange for the fallout guy theme.

i suggest trying it, i enjoyed it for a few hours. maybe i missed something? what could it hurt? its free, it didnt take long to download, and no one is obligated to keep it.

nice try guys, but this one did not hit the mark.

absolutely love this game. crisp realistic graphics, good gameplay and super involved developers. worth full price and on sale more often than expected at the time of this review.

updates frequently with actual content and improvements. recommended 10/10
