READ ALL OF THIS POST BEFORE SIGNING UP. If you fail to read the instructions, you will be blacklisted from future team drives, newbie mixes, and anything else we can find. The instructions are very easy, and our volunteer staff really appreciates your careful following of them. Thanks!

The time has come for the Newbie Mix Team Drive! In the team drive, you and 5 other new-to-ESEA players will get partnered up with an experience mentor that will help guide you through the season. The mentor won’t be playing on the team, but will help you with everything from registering on ESEA to finding your first scrims to demo reviews and everything in between. ESEA is the best experience you can currently have in TF2. You will have fun, meet new friends, and improve at a relatively rapid pace.

Things to note about the drive:

• DO NOT post anything in this thread other than signup forms.
  
• DO NOT delete your comment in this thread. This messes up our spreadsheets. If you need to withdraw from the team drive for any reason, simply edit your comment to "No longer able to play".
  
• DO NOT lie about your experience. It will hurt you as much as it will hurt the team you get put on. If you lie, we will replace you.
  
• DO NOT mark down classes you can't/ aren't willing to play. The more classes you have listed, the more likely you are to get on a team. But don't be surprised if we put you on a class that you say you are willing to play.
  
• PLEASE only use east coast times in your signup.

Coaches/ admins will not message you for updates until everything is correctly assigned. You will not be messaged unless you get placed on a team. Follow this thread for ALL other updates.
  
• IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN ESEA ACCOUNT, use the registration link with KevinIsPwn's referral. The newbie admins, coaches, and community end up paying for hundreds of dollars worth of premium each team drive. This helps offset that cost. Be a team player!
  
• IF YOU CAN AT ALL PAY, please do. If you are an adult that is unable to pay, you shouldn't be playing. You should be rethinking your life. $30 for three months of a hobby is dirt cheap, and we only want to pay for teens/ young adults that are going through school/ unable to make the payments because of parent issues. Literally mowing a single lawn can pay for your entire season. Please only mark "can't pay" if absolutely necessary.
  
• DO NOT feel obligated to mark "can pay for others". It will make no difference in your team placement.
  
• DO NOT join the newbie mix team drive unless you can realistically make a major time commitment (typically 2-3 hours, 4-5 nights a week) for the next 3-4 months. School will start, holidays will happen, interests will wane. Your team needs you, your coaches are relying on you being there and all of the time commitment from all the admins, coaches, and other players means nothing if you abandon ship halfway through the season.
  
• IF YOU PLAY UGC (highlander or 6s)/ OTHER LEAGUES, mark it in your comments. Highlander can seriously affect Sunday/Monday night scrims, and we want to do everything we can to make sure your team doesn't have a terrible scrim schedule. It's totally possible to play multiple formats/ leagues at once, but you should be aware of the fact that it will be a lot of tf2.
  
• IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS YOU WANT TO PLAY WITH, mark it in your steam comments like I’ve done in the example. You won’t get partnered with someone unless the comments mutually agree. You can do this with any number of people. For a full team of 6 (for example, a UGC team moving up), only the team leader has to post. Just write “I’m a team leader interested in the team drive.” One of our admins will add you and hook you up with a mentor.

Things to note about ESEA:

• ESEA is a major time commitment. You need to be able to play Sunday-Thursday every week throughout the season (late September through early December). If you will have to miss more than a night of scrims every other week, you should consider playing as an alternate.
  
• In your first season of ESEA, you will not do very well. This group is called “Newbie Mixes” for a reason. Here, “newbie” is a term of endearment, but be aware that your goal through your first season should be primarily to improve as individuals and as a team.
  
• After the first few weeks, you will get partnered up with people of similar rank. For the top teams, this means they get to compete at the highest level they can within the division. For the low teams, this means you get a chance for some very close, very fun games. Get through the first few weeks, and you will have the rest of the season against similarly skilled teams.
  
• ESEA costs money. Your mentor will guide you through the basics of paying for ESEA, but be aware that your whole season will cost roughly $30.
  
• You can’t play in ESEA from outside of NA unless you have god-ping and no sleep schedule.
